Msd is pretty picky about the impedance of the coil, presumably because the primary voltage delivered to it goes pretty high. I just followed their recommendations not to use accel coils. I use msd blaster 2 or the msd e coil. Thats probably the reason i havent seen any accell coils around anymore. I tend to sell or give stuff away i have no plans to use.

There's still a big Yellow accel on the Pinto. But I thing there's no resistor on it as well. So they may have partially burned it up as well? Unless there's a factory resister wire and that saved it?

I'll keep it for a wall hanger... I dunno what happened to the one I tried on the Omega back in the mid 90s. I remember someone gave me the resistor for it, but it was too late. Mine was an HEI Car, but running point, had a Mopar Ballast resistor in line for that. So I don't think I fried it?

I got a coffee can full of those damned ballast resistors. I cant figure why i keep useless shit like that. I’m gonna throw em away now.
