Nice Bike Joe! I used to be a serious bike collector, back 15 years ago.. If you are looking for any parts, you need to go to the bike show in Ann Arbor, MI. you'll never see so many collector bikes in one place. I used to go to that show every year... A few of the bikes I have left... Those are awesome Joe! I haven't been to a bike show since the 80's, and it was just an industry show. I'll have to check out the show in Ann Arbor. Many people who race with me have muscle bike collections, and display them at the track and at the big MCACN show in Chicago. The Straub family comes to mind, their daughter Adrianna often model for posters to promote the Pure Stock drags and MCACN with one of their bikes. 405092696_746141444216075_9200926393451546560_n by Joe Pinsoneault, on Flickr

That jacket is perfect!! 😁 I saw that other listing for the parts bike, too. The only thing I need from it is the bracket for the front fender, and I just can't justify purchasing the rest just for that. I actually started making a bracket for my NOS front fender based off pictures I found on the 'net. I think it will be fine until I find an original, or forever lol. 20231205_061406 by Joe Pinsoneault, on Flickr

Very nice on the Bracket..... I just get weird on someone happening to something rare and can't find parts. That Part Bike might be worth their price if it still had the tank, but it's been listed for 22 weeks with no taker, maybe they'll take a good bit less for it.... Dunno what you paid for your NOS Fender tho....

They are a great resource, but definitly not cheap. I have a fastener fetish . I’m always looking for them. I pick stainless stuff up from anywhere i find it. Trucks have some interesting stainless hardware, i find good stuff sometimes at work. Good aircraft hardware is more elusive but true gems. That one thing i look for on automobiles, hardware, upgraded hardware, correct application. Junk hardware with incorrect application is a sign of a junk car and a junk mechanic.

I spent some time cleaning the white vinyl handlebar pad cover, and it brightened up quite a bit with brake clean on a rag and careful scrubbing. The blue and black lettering got touched up a little with Sharpie markers. The metal snaps were badly rusted, so I ordered a $12 snap fastener kit from Amazon and replaced them all. 20231206_060201 by Joe Pinsoneault, on Flickr

In about 1970 I had a bike that I have never seen since. 20" Stingray with 2" red line slick on the back and red line front skinny tire. It was chrome with a short duck tail rear fender, a banana seat and tall sissy bar. The coolest part was the Rams Horn handle bars which were actually painful on the wrists. Wish I could find one again.

Sounds like a rams horn fastback. I had a black one in 1969. I seem to remember mine had skinnies front and rear. Could be false memory though. Rear slick. It got ripped off rather quickly. After that i got a “ lemon krate” and later i got an apple krate in trade. The apple was kind of worn and weathered. The krates had the small front wheel with drum brake, on a springer fork. Also had a sprung banana seat, but were similar to a fastback. You had a pretty rare bike. The krates were far more popular. I still have the frame and a few parts from my lemon krate. I think schwinns were fantastic quality bikes and nothing has been made like them ever. I had a dozen different schwinns, and flogged them mercilessly. They held up incredibly well. I also still have a frame of a early schwinn scrambler bmx.

I have a Mag Scrambler frame upstairs. I sanded it to bare metal, painted it Black, then went to metal again and went White. I hope to return it to it Original "rust" color one day. Very nice work, Joe. I'm so glad to see a Rare Bike like this saved so well.... This is what the Scrambler was. My Neighbor bought it new. Then it went thru 2 idiots in the hood before I got my idiot hands on it. All that's original is the Frame (which is Cracked) and the Cranks. They Broke the rear Tuff Wheel I, Forks, tossed the Handle Bars and Gooseneck for "better" stuff.

Thanks Cappy. It's just a kid's toy sidewalk bike obviously, but I think it's cool. I always had bmx/freestyle bikes, lots of Haro, GT, etc. but I really miss my old PK Ripper the most. Who knew these old things would be worth so much. My younger brother has my old GT World Tour bike I built when working at the bike shop with all the cool parts from the day. Of course he won't sell it back to me.

Well now. I never thought i would come clean about being a bike hoarder. I still have a team mongoose, a haro, numerous pieces of schwinns, a trek farley9, a snap on fat tire, and a bunch of mountain bikes&parts from wrecked bikes, not like i get a bunch of use from it all. I still ride the mountain bikes and farley some. Off roading jars my brain pretty hard these days. So its mostly side of the hiway riding. You got a cool cruiser joe, and like usual did a helluva job bringin it back around. Its a fantastic pit bike too. Also a great conversation piece with drag strip groupies and pit chicks. I dont mean to turn your topic to about me stuff. I simply love bikes. I’d like to show and tell some of my stuff. I had a pretty bad crash a couple years back and got tore up pretty good. I brag on the scars and time has slowed me down. I wish i would have kept my graco. It was such an awesome period piece. It would be really cool to cruise it these days. Such a nice slice of 1975. Check out the graco ( and everything else). www.bmxmuseum.com
