Yea I found it in my own barn, what can I say. In the next couple of weeks I need to pull the old beast out to store it over at javetwotone's place for a while.

2005 is the date on the back of the photo but, I stuck it back there before that. I will have to see what year the plate is.

The end of it's glory days,1980.

Made it through the Blizzard of '78. I parked the Ambo and AMX nose to nose so that one or the other would start with a pair of jumper cables hooked to each other. The AMX started first and was really quiet. Open the hood and you could not see the engine because of the snow. The fan blade was cutting through the snow.

1975. The tired 290 came out and the 360 went in. I was 19 and this is where I learned that a 290 flywheel on a 360 would create a vibration the hard way. Of coarse that didn't stop me from putting about 60K on it that way. My Uncle is in the picture under the car. He put the engine in for me on a Saturday at the AMC Mercury dealership for a case of beer.

1974. I bought the car before graduation for $1495.00. 290 4 speed 3.54 red, platenum interior. No options except for the light group and limited slip. It had 60,000 miles on it which was a lot of miles. I think the car has 155,000 on it right now. I beat that poor car like a redheaded step child.

Dad's '71 F100 and '70 Hornet along with Grandma's 69 American in the back ground. The Hornet was the only new car my Dad ever bought. The AMX had a Javelin grille in it when I bought it. I had to save up my money to buy a new one at $40.00 from the dealer. Doesn't sound like much but I was making $2.00/hr and was only working aternoons as a Co-op student.
