Tell Jeff I said that he owes you a new one and he needs to pay up! I've loaned out parts to have them reproduced and have always been reimbursed with one of the new parts. Jeff should have been up front and offered that for using your harness. Those harnesses are not easy to come by, except in reproduction now..

It's Bristow, what can I say.... I have known him since the '80's. Eventually he will come around.

Fabed up a V8 cross member for the Hornet race car wannabe today.. Cut the brackets off a big car cross member first. I had made up a couple of templates for the brackets themselves and built this fixture years ago. This system uses the big car motor mounts which are way easy to find compared to the expensive small car motor mounts.

Here is the Jonesified cross member installed in the car. This set-up uses the easy to find big car engine brackets and mounts. The slots make it a lot easier to install the engine and there is actually more clearance for headers. Well, the BBO Hornet is now in the hands of a young Canadian. Kinda cool, this the second time I sold a V8 hornet to a young Lad! In this case just like the other one, I am confident that he will make it a drivable car.. I'm sure that ramblingrebel will tell you all about it...

it was good to finally see where Rick James lives...i laid a trail of smarties so i could retrace my steps there, but i think with the torrential rains and plague of locusts they got just before we got there, i think it all got washed away. The lengths Rick will go to stay secluded and not let his uber sekret location known. All kidding aside, it was a good quick incursion, Rick treated us very well, though he never DID have an explanation about the 4 jars of vaseline and why he had to keep searching me every time I left his garage and shop (i figured he'd been in the south too long ) the young fella's i brought along, one that was there to scoop that fine collectible automobile, were in awe of the "stuff" there (I found mecca, and it lives on Ricks property). We even got a look at the Mad Scientist lab that Kevin has...if i hadn't told the young fella's parents that i would ensure their kids safe return to Canada, i'm sure they would have applied to be adopted... Plan on returning to the area, i don't know how long my restraining order is in effect for, but like THAT ever stopped me before Thanks Rick, the young fella is already working on it, and the crowd of his piers were gathered around the front of my house for an hour checking it out (and usually their there to try and lynch me so its a nice change cant remember how to post pics here, but i got a few really good one's of my right eyeball again, plus a few of the adventure, one day i'll figure this high tech stuff out rr

I haven't done anything on the SC/360 in... a while but, it doesn't stop me from thinking about it... I have everything to make it a pure stock points winning show car but of course I will have to have my tweaks which include 15'x7" wheels and bigger tires on the rear and a dual snorkle air cleaner. Which, kinda don't make it a points winning pure stock vehicle. I even have everything to put the smog system on it. I still have a long list of crap that I have to do before I get back on the project but, I am thinking of tuning it more towards a Pure Stock Drag Car. Dammit Joe, your fault! It would actually be easier than dealing with the smog crap that I would have just taken off back in the day anyway. So after inspecting the blue SC/360 that raced last year I see that apparently a SC/360 with Torque Links, Free-Flow manifolds and a Edelbrock Carb is considered acceptable for the pure stock drag races. I know that he has megadollars into his car to make a stock..ish 360 go in to the 12's. I will not be spending megadollars but I am thinking about building a different engine for mine. My common sense is kicking my ass because it is telling me to just use the one I built for it and it does what it does.. My stupid sense is telling me... well the 70 AMX needs valve seals, I may as well replace the engine with the one intended for the SC/360. IMG_3082 by Rick Jones, on Flickr
