Hey iâm not against cheating at all. I might be a hypocrite, but âstockâ racing was tailor made for liars cheaters and hypocrites. đ this aint exactly a good thread for me, iâm not a stock racer, its not my baileywhig. Racing has always been about getting an advantage to win, rules have always been about keeping the playing field even. They are always at odds with each other and extremes of the same conversation. My comments were not intended to distract or detract from the topic. and in the end, when it comes to the era and musclecars in general, amc is always going to be the underdog, and will likely never see any favor from the ârulesâ so have fun but donât bust a bloodvessel trying. Because if you do start to win, all those other cheaters will cry foul and poof the ârulesâ will ruin your parade

Time to get back to building and finding a really good cheat. The shit lifter angled block, with total shit head, and shit exhaust manifolds is getting faster.

I'd bet a spud motored Whorenet could give it a run for its money. AMC did make V-8 powered fastback Whorenets.

No way i could do that shitđthat 340 duster on peasplitters is quicker than my 420 inch hornet on slicks. Unless i apply Factory Appearance Stupid Technology and run with it claiming my 401 stroker is the 304 that 77 hornets could come with maybe.

You may not believe it (or maybe?), but that 340 is well over 420", with 1000 cfm Thermoquad on c16 oxygenated fuel, with timing control to launch on those tiny tires, and low drag 904 trans, BIG compression, etc... And it is NOT cheating in the FAST series. An equivalent AMC would be a "360" with dealer service block at maybe 4.250" bore, stroked steel crank at 3.9" for 443" mill. It can be done, but still the under dog unless someone can get WAY more than 605 cfm from the 4300 carb. I actually just talked to Donny Brass from the FAST series earlier today about such a combo. I'll see him at US131 this Friday for the last FAST race, and will have my AMX there if the weather cooperates. They're a pretty good bunch of racers, unless you make them look bad, I'm guessing. đ

So can any amc run a 800 afb? Since it looks like a stock carb?

On a pre 1970 I suppose, but they look nothing like a 1970-1974 4300 unfortunately. I hear of a few people that have modified the 4300 for more cfm though.

MaybeâŚbut why? What exactly is the point? A ten second ride is what it is. An unstreetable nearly useless money pit. Its just a fact FAST isnt for me. I can see the point in a car like joeâs that is really a stock machine, and can be driven and enjoyed. But FAST isnât as sensible

Now on gAyMC they all say zero ET dif between a 600 and 750. Didn't Mr. 75 HP rpm air gap even make less hp with a 750? Just repeating what I read over and over and over again.

I've gone faster with big carbs. But I'm no expert I must not "know what I'm doing" with a small carb. What was Jiffy running as a carb in Stock Elim?
