This is my Track QCR. I'm loving all the comments about GNs running 13s stock. Along with 340s and 5.0 Wangstangs and that these guys need "Driver Mods" Sorry this isn't T&T it's the Pure Stock Drags. This isn't a short, downhill, tailwind, mineshaft track and the guys aren't lying about being stock, while having a sneaky Pete under the dash. These vids go to show what I watched for 35 years at that track. I don't lie about times. I've also watched other guys come from other tracks and wonder what's wrong with their car. lol

14.4x is about what a stock 340 powered Duster/Dart/Demon is supposed to run, isn't it? Back in the day, a friend of mine, well, friend of a friend, had a '70 AAR Cuda, 340 six pack. I could blow him right into the weeds with my 383 Coronet, and almost keep up with my '73 Jav/AMX or '73 Matador. BTW, thanks for the cool vintage vids. I never thought I would see the day when I would be describing anything from the '80s as 'vintage'.

Many now claim 13s, just like for the GNs. I remember talking to guys back then and they had chips and Thermostat changes on GN's to get 13s. That's not "stock" in my opinion. In my opinion changing the timing from stock specs makes it no longer "stock"
And the 340s in the 14s were modded. Parker who was an all Mopar racer had a tube chassis Mopar Race Car in the 8s N/A in the 80s also had a 1970 340 Dart. Had a Purple strip cam, intake, headers, auto 3.55s and went 14.2. It was one of the fastest street 340s around. One guy had a modded 340 in a Gremlin running 14.8 who was at the track every week. My buds 360 Grem was in the 13s. He used to ask the guy why don't he pull that Pig Slowpar out of there, go AMC and go much faster.

I just love reading all the comments from all the Pro Drivers below the vids. It's a sad thing no one knows who any of them are. Big Chief gets to make 38 Million a year having fun racing on TV, why aren't these great drivers noticed? I mean getting 9s out of a bone stock GN, just by putting them behind the wheel, that should be worth 20 Billion a year. Damn shame they have to drudge there ass to the same ol' place every day and punch a clock for a guy who thinks you're a POS lmao

More on "Driver Mod" I remember when a guy bought a new 385HP ZO6 Vette and came to the track. The internet said it would do 11.80s off the showroom floor. Welp, he ran 13.40s
So the guy let at least a dozen other guys try the car out, 3 days a week all summer. 13.40s. They put slicks on it, 13.40s. All he was looking for a was a bone stock 11. He had no ego, hence letting everyone at the track that thought they were a Pro Driver beat the nuts off of it. It's a shame none of these YouTuber's ever left their Mom's basement, came out and put it in the 9s for him with their awesome skillz.

Then a buddy had a 67 383 Charger, he put a built 440 in it he bought off a guy. He ran 14.80s with it. He had his local legend "Ronnie Sox" buddy with him, who told him he couldn't drive. So my bud handed the car over to the Pro. This guy looked like the shorter, skinnier, more retarded version of John Cougar Mellonhead. He goes up to the line, tachs the fuck out of the car and Neutral slams it at 6 grand. The car goes sideways and runs a 17. The idiot did say "it's harder than it looks" But he sure used to comment a lot before his first pass down the track in his life at 50.
Sidenote, he had SST Cragars on the Car. I suggested he take those heavy POS's off and go Centerline Auto Drags, since he liked the look. That change alone got him 14.40s then he never came back.

I dunno, Cap. Bumping up the timing, putting a curve kit in the distributor, tinkering with carb jetting, upgrading the ignition is still stock in my book. Swapping the carb, intake, adding headers, etc., yeah, not quite stock any more. BTW, those are great vids. Thanks for finding them. You could sure tell the ringers, running mid-high 13s when everyone else is in the 14s and 15s or even slower. Mostly the Fords and Buick V6 turbo cars. Cheatin' is racin', IMO.

I like Mr. 14.6 Bone Stock running a 17. lol
How do people even fuck up that bad. My 304 ran 17.1 bone stock right down to the "Timming" at THAT track and I was having horrible traction problems and never varied more than 1/10. No Car of mine has ever varied more than 3/10s ever, over 1000 passes. Yet these guys go up and down 3-5 seconds daily.
