I like that and cars that drive and race. Monuments to money bore me.

Thanks for sharing the link, hadn't seen that one yet. I went to the F.A.S.T. series spring nationals at US131 in Martin, MI last week to run in their "Factory Stock" class (same rules as the Pure Stock drags). Great time, and made 22 passes over 2 days. Matched my personal best of 12.72 @ 110 mph. It was fun to get back out to a dragstrip, since Milan won't be opening this year. 20210514_105053_HDR by Joe Pinsoneault, on Flickr 20210514_201822 by Joe Pinsoneault, on Flickr

Thanks Rick! It was a long day, sorry for the late reply. It was a great 2 outta 3 shootout! I got lucky when the Firebird redlit 1st round, but my car picks up soooo much with good air that I still caught him. The next 2 rounds were more good luck, with him spinning a bit 2nd round and a good, close race 3rd round. Another fun race in the books, I'm glad you were able to come hang out Rick!! 20210919_195809 by Joe Pinsoneault, on Flickr 20210919_195831 by Joe Pinsoneault, on Flickr 20210919_195845 by Joe Pinsoneault, on Flickr

If 3,250 lbs 12.80 is supposed to be about 260 RWHP The original scale check was 3414 with me onboard, and 1/4 tank of fuel. I later filled the tank to 3/4 for ballast, but didn't recheck weight.

n2ojoe - looks like y'all had more fun than a grown man should... if we say 3,500 pounds, math spits out 12.80 secs = 280 RWHP but 3,500 lbs & 109 MPH spits out 350 RWHP ! And you're doin' that on what 6 inch wide tread ? Think it's safe to say ya got that 390 makin' 1 HP/CI at least.

The 70 AMX is all loaded up in the big trailer, ready to leave in the morning for the F.A.S.T. spring opener at US131. Looks like it will be a little warm at low-mid 80 degrees on Thursday and Friday. 20220511_185312 by Joe Pinsoneault, on Flickr
