Today was brake-in time for Rotroo's new engine at Milan. I will get him on here for the details etc but the first run was a 11.11 @ 119. The second run was a 11.03 @ 122 and the third run was a 10.8 @ 123. He was lined up against Mr. Ketchum 2 out of the 4 runs that he had. Ramblers, Ramblers, Ramblers! The weather was perfect. We are having the first official AMC day next Sunday - Father's Day. Forgot to mention.. Ketchum ran a 9.20 against Rotroo.

Bill Ketchum and I actually ran 3 races together. It was very cool having 2 Ramblers rumbling down the track. Hitting that 10.8 really made my day. Rick and I set out building this motor with the 10's as a goal and we hit it on the 3rd pass. We had some help along the way from the farm guys as well. The 1st run I kinda screwed up. I got to the line and only had 2 pairs of cars in front of me. It was my first time using a shoulder harness and I fumbled with that enough that I got all flumoxed trying to hurry. I go to do a burn out and they wave me off and send the other car solo. They pulled the next car up which happened to be Ketchum. So we got the 1st run jitters out of the way and it just got better after that. Still a couple of issues to work out, but had a blast! My brother was there with his 67 Coronet and his son with a 65 Coronet. Great day for some test and tune. Thanks to all who contributed to the build. I am very happy with it.

I forgot to mention my grandson came with me as well. That made my day more than the 10.8. He's a gentle giant at 6'4 at 18. He is a huge help when he's around and enjoys the racing. He is in the 2nd pic with the orange shirt.

Put a new MSD distributor/coil and wires on the 390. Well...428 now. Also a 1 inch carb spacer is now on. The old Mallory distributor had issues. If you just touched the distributor it changed how it ran. Shorting out or something. The motor sounds better with the new ignition. Maybe we can get to that 10.0 number. Very happy with the new motor/converter/trans combo.
