...is a better dog than my dog. Dog-65lbs. of quivering jelly when the fireworks start going off. Cat? "Hey, let's go outside and investigate all of this noise." Break out the vacuum... Dog runs and hides, cat comes over for a grooming with the shop vac. No shit. Cat follows me around like a puppy. Puppy sits off by herself like a cat. I know how to pick 'em.

Cats are... anything that you want them to be or, everything you don't want them to be. Makes no sense I know but, I have had some cats that were my best buddy and would sleep with the dog in her house. On the other hand, I have had a couple of cats that have come around that were evil and actually died of lead poising inflected by me. Not to steal the thread but in the last couple of years I have had a problem keeping a good cat or two around. I have them for a year or less, get attached, and then the dumasses manage to get hit in the road. After spending $100.00 on a dam cat at the Humane Society and having it run off after about a week, I have been going with the free ones from Rotroo or Craigslist. I like to have a shop cat to keep the mice at bay. This spring my good cat got hit so, I got one off of Craigslist. Strange cat. It seemed pretty tame when we put her in the caring case but when I let her out in the she bolted and hid for about 3 weeks. She finally came out of hiding when she came in heat. Great, now I have a horny cat that can't get enough attention. In the mean time 3 weeks ago, a starving Momma cat and 5 kittens showed up in my barn. Of course even though the bitch hisses at me, I feed them and got them healthy again. Momma will now actually let me pet her and the kids. The kittens are now about 4 weeks old and I hear a little meow outside of the barn night before last. It is another kitten but a little bigger than the 5. WTF! It is more tame than all of them. So I went from zero to 8 cats in 3 months. Anyone want a adorable kitten?

I got two cats both were stray/feral cats but they became tame pets because of the wife.. Got to keep them indoors at night around here or the coyotes will get them. I guess they've got to eat too but I am not paying $200 a year to feed the local wildlife..

That's the same thing here. Cats have to stay inside or they end up hawk or coyote food. I do have an extremely feral cat on the property, but she won't let me near her.

This is the stray 6th kitten that showed up. She is a keeper. Trying to come up with an appropriate name for her. IMG_3494 by Rick Jones, on Flickr On a sad note, my dog died last night. It sucks, she was a good old dog.

Sorry about your Dog, Rick.. Yittie and Boogers are my two strays. They won't let you near them. They've been coming her for almost 5 years. Survived the highway, Coyotes, Foxes, etc. We had Baby Foxes under the shed this year. Yittie Boogers

Sorry to hear about your dog Rick! It's never easy to lose a pet, especially a faithful dog...
So let's have a "Name Rick's latest stray" contest...
It should be car related..

Thanks. I was thinking I might call her "Charger" seeings how she likes to sit on a battery and purr. Boogers kinda looks like a badass. Probably just scares the mice away.

Yittie is all sorts of inbred, his back has gotten redder, and he has a white stripe down his back now. So he's pretty scary.
Boogers is the one that was beating up the neighbor's Cats.

Call her "diode" it's a little less Chrysler sounding...

Sorry to hear about the dog, even if it did creep me a little.. Was thinking "Acid Breath" for the kitten.

Sorry about the dog Rick, it's sad when you lose a 4 legged family member. I was going to offer that Charger suggestion before I read your post! lol

Come on, Charger can't happen. It's blasphemy! If you stay with the battery theme then call her 12-volt,or top post or some shit instead of naming her after a formerly legendary car that was resurrected to be a 4 door family sedan.
Gross!
