Bracket hanging down for a pan hard rod. I assume that the bracket where the Torque Link mounts were was for the Bonneville run. Notice the Smokey Unic thing with the lowered floor pan. Looks like they grafted a Javelin floor pan under the AMX pan where the mufflers would have mounted. IMG_2917 by Rick Jones, on Flickr They made these nice access panels to get to the spring bolts. IMG_2918 by Rick Jones, on Flickr The rectangle area above the fuel pump is where the differential oil cooler was mounted. He want me to put one back in. IMG_2923 by Rick Jones, on Flickr The rear quarters were extended in within 3/8" to the rear spring shackle nut. I barely had enough room to take the nut off. IMG_2922 by Rick Jones, on Flickr

On the Javelin floor panel extension, is the original AMX floor there also? Is it double wall in that area going back to the rear axle tunnel?
Leafsprings - wonder what the specs are on those?

The original floor pan is still there. Check this out... we went over and looked at the #2 Breedlove car today. Yea, it was cool. The floors were added on to the same way. There is some extra panels under the seat area as well to help smooth out the bottom. The 9 leaf springs were put in there for drag racing after they did the Bonneville run. IMG_2992 by Rick Jones, on Flickr Same treatment on the rear quarters. IMG_2999 by Rick Jones, on Flickr No Pan Hard rod bracket but I need to look closer next time. I am so lucky to be able to see both cars. The #1 car just have the brackets welded to the frame and I thought it was a Bonneville thing or something. Nope, they made up a crazy adjustable Torque Link. This stuff is just way cool to me. IMG_3005 by Rick Jones, on Flickr IMG_3013 by Rick Jones, on Flickr

Wonder if those leaf springs might be Dave Landrith Hurst AMX parts he marketed for some time?

neat stuff! They found subtle ways to make the bottom of the car more aerodynamic. Real race car stuff

Don't know about the leaf springs but they are bronze or brass bushed in the front and the center locating bolt is moved back about a inch. The car has a original length drive shaft. Amazing to me that the #2 car is just about all there. If it wasn't for being able to look the car over, I wouldn't have found out which engine and rear end oil coolers were used. Seems like one of the cars was damaged in a flood or something like that.

Yep the #1 car that I am working on was in like 3' of mud. Dirt is still falling out of it. Here is a shot of the widened gas tank of the #2 car. It is just a cover for the fuel cell. IMG_3001 by Rick Jones, on Flickr

Wow, I would have loved to check out the #2 car and meet John! He's just outside of town from me, right? Super cool he let you take the pics too.

Yep, both cars are in Lenawee County right now within 40 miles of each other. I have a open invitation and will be going back over. I will let you know when I go. Here is a picture of the #1 car with the Bonneville tires on it. IMG_3023 by Rick Jones, on Flickr Anybody know where I can find a set-up like this? IMG_2976 by Rick Jones, on Flickr

Lane automotive has an awesome selection of circle track type fuel filler necks/cells. But, I doubt anything vintage exactly like that.

That would work! We have a base with no holes so all we need to find now is the parts for the vent.
