I got one in a 2000 3.8 v6 mustang. I wonder if it would adapt to amc

What I can find looks like it would be a go with the right amc bellhousing. Input length and nose for the crank look to be the same as the v8. Just need to use the right pilot bushing and bearing retainer like I did.

Welp i got a 5.3 LS engine. I figure its for fuel economy. And streetability. And horsepower. And plenty of parts in case it craters. Also Because it was cheap ( 300 bux) . And because its bad to LS an amc. And its roadkill. You see there simply is not a more sensible engine for this pile of shit. I hope the hideout supports this heinous decision. 😁 yes it will retain injection i’m getting sick of yellow crud encrusted carburetors. I’m takin cappys advice on this one.

I can't find an LS out here for less than a few $G.

I live in a wildly overpopulated urban area that has huhuhuge crossection of really stupid people who crash their cars on a regular basis so junkyards are overflowing with late model carnage.

I can't find an LS out here for less than a few $G. Yeah, but Mint Squarebody Chevy's are $1500 out your way, while they're $50,000 here. lol So it's a trade off. We have rust on our side, those Chevy Frames rot right in half on all these Trucks. So you have tons of good running mills that no longer have a body to move around.

Non Progress report. I cut the four foot tall weeds down that had obscured the view of the roadkill javelin. Outs sight outa mind. It reminded me that its not really a project if you dont work on it. But it was a great idea. So i cleaned up a gas tank and installed it. Total wow moment i know. Fantastic amount of progress. I am not goal oriented obviously. Maybe i can put a seat in there next, so i csn sit in it and make car noises

I got a surprise today. A tremec tkx in the driveway. I got the gm version, 3.27 low .72 overdrive. Yes its going in the roadkill javelin. I went with the gm type, i might do a gm engine, i already have the discontinued lakewood amc engine to gm trans bellhousing. So i can run an amc engine too. I haven’t said much about it lately… so anyways i have done some work, putting the suspension in, it has a stock amc 20 3.15 gear with trutrac axle in it, hung on 200 pound/ inch monoleafs. The front suspension is stock except with 600 pound / inch early mustang coils, that have adjustable spring perches on the upper a arms that allow about 2” of adjustment. Kyb gas shocks all around. Stock bendix discs from a matador wagon in front and stock drums out back. Also has a stock variable power steering. Its gonna be a little lower than stock but not much. A stiffer ride with more hiway stability. I also have assembled a 3.54 trutrac axle, and have most of the stuff to assemble a 3.31 with a twin grip axle. I think the 3.15 will be plenty with the 327 low and should cruise around 2000 rpm with the .72 top gear. I gotta do some repair to the top rear shock mounts, they are both completey ripped out. This car was once apparantly drag raced, and it has been damaged fron severe wheel hop and leaf spring wrap.

I so want one of those TKX transmissions. I'm liking the the one with 2.87 first and .68 OD with 3.54 gears. The hard part is making myself part with $3K.

I dont know what the perfect ratio is. I couldnt really decide which one to go with so i went with the wide ratiio. This car is another experiment, i might even try a gm v6 in it. The roadkill javelin is gonna be a driver. I also have considered a 4.0. The tkx is the heart of it all and the big investment in this fun project. Its not about power or racing, but the drivetrain will handle it if i want to put a high powered engine in, for now i think i’l do an amc v8.

If I were smart, I would just copy what you're doing.

Well you can do anything really. I almost bought a wrecked camaro with a LS and a six speed for 1500 bux. That woulda been great! I mean who cares anymore. As long as it runs good. In this neck of the woods your nuts to take a nice car out on the road with all the no drivin imigrant democrats on the road. Might as well drive a pile of shit.

A wrecked Camaro with an LS and a six speed would go for $7K-$10K out here. A wrecked Duramax, Cummins, or 7.3 turbo will easily fetch $10K. I was at an auction a few years ago and watched a totally smashed Mustang (2012 or so) gor for $7K.
