I've repaired headliners with fiberglass cloth and resin on the backside. For the cabin side I've used roll on Bedliner.

I pressure washed it yesterday. At least now it no longer looks like it had been sitting at the bottom of a lake. Pulled the seats and just washed them with a garden hose. Never thought about using Comet for buffing compound... Probably won't accomplish much for a few days. I have to go do actual work today, keep the wolves at bay, then the wife wants me to go goof off with her somewhere. Then it's gonna bee 100+ for a couple of days.

Pressure washin can do damage, and leaves a dull surface, A good old scrubbin with a damp sponge and comet is a tried and true “ paint resto”. Then seal it up with some good old carnoobuh wax. The mud wont like you at all

I try not to get too close and get it squeaky clean with the pressure washer, just knock off the major crud. I'll wash it proper and slap some Turtle Wax on it when the time comes.

I got the headliner repaired, painted, and reinstalled. The visors were still a touch tacky, so they'll go back in tomorrow. Waiting on a floor kit from BJ's. I decided that doing a rubber floor from scratch was not in my skill set. A man has to know his limitations. Working on straightening out the door panels, and installing some tunes this week. Using some clear vinyl to make a template for a piece of 1/8" plywood. The white is some waterproofer from Gorilla. The first product of that brand that I have used that didn't suck. It was actually pretty good stuff. Dynamat to replace the original asphalt that kept the roof metal from reverberating. The black paint is Rustoleum rust reformer. I'm going to use POR on the floor and inside the doors. Spray on truck bed liner. I sealed the plywood with a couple coats of clear laquer. The 'before' pic of one door panel. I don't have an 'after' pic yet. I get this contact cement essentially for free. It took 12 tubes to fix the headliner. Headliner back in place. Cleaned up the dash a little. Still need to clean up the residue from a mud wasp nest in the glove box. I just happened to have a brand new set of Bosch windshield wipers in inventory. My packrat ways save the day yet again.

Got a little more work done today. I used the clear vinyl again for a template. I had this stuff on hand for the wind/moisture barrier. I ended up using a razor knife more that the jigsaw.
Not too bad for my first (well, third) attempt at making a door panel.

Tell ya' what. The screws AMC used to hold the trim, etc. in place are harder than freakin' woodpecker lips. A few were rusty in the head and stripped out. A regular drill bit wouldn't touch them. I had to drill them out with a solid carbide drill.

Don't know if you tried this but take a bit and tap it with a hammer first. They usually just bust loose to turn out

I did try that, even tried an old hammer type impact, which did work for some of them, but not all.
Right now, I'm having a gAyMC moment when it comes to oil filters. I have PF-24s, Wix 1049s, a whole case of OEM AMC filters, and of course Motorcrap FL-1s.

Cruised the ol' girl down to the tire shop today without incident. First time she's been past the mailbox in about a decade. It ran and drove pretty good. Sadly, the tire shop is closed for Labor Day weekend.
