NEJoe is now the proud owner of this one! Plus, I off-loaded a 304 slated for it. IMG_5527 by Rick Jones, on Flickr

Re-ring a 304, rebuild a 998, replace the AMC15 with a 20 and drive it.

Is he keeping the lovely mouse piss interior smell? And what the hell, he didn't want you having that many more projects then him...

Other than spending time that I will never get back to save the Whales, it all worked out pretty good.. The rotted Hornet/AMX went to Scooter to be used as a donor car for the one that he has. The Spirit/AMX goes to NEJoe including a 360, 998, and AMC20 that I had in the stock pile. And today, Stickshifter's Son took the '82 Spirit GT. This leaves me with the silver '83 Spirit GT to play with. Knowing now what I didn't know at the start was the fact that the Javelin was really a Javelin/AMX that I could have bout for $3500 actually went for $5500. That is ok though, I am good with it being in someone elses hands. I have more than enough projects to work on.

Thanks Rick for both selling the Spirit to my son and for just looking out for the world of AMCs. I think Bryan will be able to get that Spirit up and drivable in short order. His plan right now is to leave it with the 258 and then maybe upgrade it with a 4.0L head and intake along with the stock fuel injection.

Sold the last Spirit a couple of weeks ago. It all worked out ok. I ended up getting rid of all of the cars and scored a good pair of cylinder heads along with a few Sun Equipment test machines. I really don't care if they work or not, I just think they look cool. IMG_5826 by Rick Jones, on Flickr

The silver Spirit went by by today to it's now home - no more lawn ornament. NEJoe will be coming to work on the Spirit/AMX in a couple of weeks. The plan is to pull the 6 cyl, replace the K-member and plop his 360 and 904 in it. IMG_5248 by Rick Jones, on Flickr This will conclude my saving the whales adventure..

The Spirit made it's racing debut on Friday. He had a 18.75 dial in for first round. Not exactly fast but my son still had a good time.
