Import vs Domestic #7 at US131 this past weekend. First time out with the yellow car since last August. Not so concerned with the race itself but the chance to get some testing in. Somethings went OK and a few issues developed. Made a total of 9 hits. The first 6 were only partials since the big problem has been shaking the tires at the launch. If it makes it into 2nd gear, life is good.

Did they finish the race Kev? I got out of work and got ready to head to the track, then saw it was on rain delay and decided to just work in the garage at home.

The race did go on. Restarted racing at about 9:30~10:00. We lost first round when the car spun a bit more on the hit. I just couldn't shift into 2nd gear quick enough. It hit the rev limiter at about 750mS into the run, way too soon for me to react to. We left at 1:30am and they still had more racing to do. No idea right now whether or not the full race was completed.

OK, racing life has been difficult for a while. But I think we have things looking better now. Hopefully. Last pass at the TnT today before the race tomorrow. It is at least responding to changes we are making, plus it's going straight.
No real times as I had the nitrous on for only 1.7 seconds. But it is interesting that the time slip showed that pass as "Leaving Before Third Amber" and a 1.68 second sixty foot time. I may be off but pulling 2.6 Gs for over a second usually equates to a better sixty foot time.
But then again, maybe I'm just wrong?

A new first time for me, autocross on Sunday. SCCA event in Livonia driving the 1980 Fiat Spider(80 hp new) in the HCS (Heritage Classic Street) class. I am happy to say I was fastest in my class (also only one in this class). Had a great time. I think I might try my 1989 Pontiac Trans Am in the F Street class next time.

That IS fun. We used to do it in my AMX's in the '80's.

Thanks. It truly is a little car. LOL I was looking for better competition tires for it earlier today. I'm not one to leave well enough alone.

He didn't know they were going to mount and balance them. He was going to have a friend mount them, then we'd balance them. They didn't charge him anything for the mount and balance. He bought everything from Tire Rack. They installed the bore spacers, got him small headed lugs and the right socket for them... They used stick on weights, but more than I'm happy with. You can see they didn't line up the dots with the valve stem. I usually look inside the tire for the seam and line that up with the stem and rarely use weights. .50 at most.... The tires are dated 2021, but with all the shortages going on, we're not surprised they're not "fresher."

His Car has 19s on it. But he went with 18s, cause tire selection is better and cheaper. Up to $130 a tire cheaper. Good ol' RM in effect.
Nittos were quite a bit more as well. Most said these work good and better than stock. He figured he'd try them. Then if they suck, wear them out and get the Nittos.... They had a Michelin a lot of guys like, but it looks like a Winter tire. They may work, but I told him, Man are they ugly. These will look better when he pulls into his Ricer Meets...
