One guy looked for 10 minutes at a pair of the $2.00 window cranks and I said "They are anly 2 bux, it it really worth spending that mutch time rubbing on them?" He said "yea, it is" and looked at them for 5 more minutes and then left without buying anything.

The mythical Rambler Mentality! It's real. I don't know about "mythical". I think it runs rampant at the shows. I had plenty of those experiences at the AMO national this year but my favorite was when I was at GAD this year. I had a pair of NOS, original sill plates for an AMX or Javelin a guy asked "how much?", so I gave him a price (which was over $100 cheaper than I've seen them posted for on ebay). He offered me less than half of my asking price which I immediately refused. He said "there wasn't enough meat left on the bone" for him. This was all after he told me he sells on ebay. He came back 5 times to try to beat me up on my price. After his first insulting offer, he didn't have enough money in his pocket to take them home with him. I sometimes shift into DICK mode once I am insulted about my prices, this was one of those times. Make me a fair offer and I'll consider it or take it. Insult me and keep coming back, you'll never buy anything from me. There are a few guys that I see at the shows that I immediately double or triple my asking price when they ask a price. I don't care if they buy anything from me. In fact I would just as soon break the part or throw it out rather than sell it to them.

That reminds me of the story that Eddie Stakes has told several times.
Some dick-head makes a ridiculously low offer for a tail-light Eddie had in his space at a swap-meet... kept coming back all day long, bugging Eddie about the tail-light, but never increased his offer. At the end of the day, the guy came back, again badgering Eddie to sell him the tail-light for next to nothing, at which point Eddie threw the tail-light on the ground, stomped on it, and said "Sure, now you can have it at that price!"

Don't trust him Joe... He will try to pay you in Canadian Tire money. I know! Have you seen that Plastic Canadian tire money? Don't let it go through the dryer, it shrinks to a ball of plastic, 1/8th its original size. I think it might have been Tony's idea to make their bills out of plastic...

Love your post, Joe! I knew a guy that stomped several parts at Swap Meets for the same reason. I get sick of these E-bay flipper shit. Like the junk 401s for big money, then the same guy will cry about a SBC in an AMC. Welp, you created your own Monster.
