That's gonna be quite the pole barn. How deep do you have to set those out there?

Is that going to be just storage? You sure could use some unheated economical storage to free up some of the high rent shop area.

I would have expected a little deeper, as cold as it gets.

Is that going to be just storage? You sure could use some unheated economical storage to free up some of the high rent shop area. The whole thing will be heated to a point. You know me, I don't like to be cold. Where the 2-post lift is now, will be the finished-put together area. My SC/360 will sit there until I get it drivable. The middle will be storage. I will have to add one or two more storage lifts. I will wall off the bay on the north end of the new part for the work/body shop, paint/grungy area. Engine tear-down will be in the back where all my junk is stored now. Now all I need is a zillion dollars to make it all happen.

OK, so here's a question for you Rick: Why did you do pole framing opposed to standard stick framing? With normal stick framing you would have normal walls to insulate and finish. I just never understood doing pole framing if you are going to use the space as a real shop. IMHO, pole framing is for storage barns. But either way, congrats on getting the project moving. But what about the Kelvinator area? And yes, I know you do NOT like to be cold. ;-)

It will be pole barn construction then, I will go back and add wall studs on 2' centers so that I can add 6" insulation and wall board of some sort. When hiring it roughed in, it would have cost more for stick construction and I would have had to have the concrete work done first. At least now if I run out of money I can still get the stuff under a roof.

WOW! That's a lot bigger than it looked in the other pictures. Nice! So, do you have any extra space to store a few things for me? ;-)
