Do any of you guys feel Muscle Cars will still be popular in 30 years and will sell fast and bring more money than they do now? Do you see there being a strong market for them in the future? The supply will have plenty of demand so to say.
We walk around the Swap Meets and rarely see anyone younger than their 40s, so I see the Market being flooded with cars and the prices plummeting.

I think you pretty much nailed it... but I think it'll happen a lot faster than 30 years. We love the cars we grew up with. I'd guess that you wouldn't be able to GIVE most muscle-cars away, 15 years from now... they'll be a relic that no one can relate to, and at best will be remembered as something that "my Grandpa (for some reason) used to own."

I'm a youngster and I don't know what's wrong with my generation. I think the top shelf muscle cars will maintain value and desirability but everything else will plummet. A Hemi 'Cuda or 435 horse 'vette are always going to be $$$. When the current generation of owners cease to be owners, their kids are just going to try and punt that old car down the road and saturate the market. I, for one, am looking forward to being able to buy cool stuff at reasonable prices. Not looking forward to losing the community and stories that go along with them though.

Got my AMX back in 78 for 20 bucks. Can you buy a Honda that's 8 years old (no engine or trans) for twenty? Probably not because of inflation and who really wants a fucked up rice burner any ways?

I say the future is probably pretty dim for the muscle cars. Just watching a few of the auctions lately shows the trend, as well as some cars I have seen on ePay and other sites. Unfortunately it seems the AMC's are trending lower then most. Just stick with the enjoyment of having them rather than an investment, and you will be better off.

Given that the "investment" value of these cars is less than ideal (lets face it, only high value stuff in the future will be Ferrari's and similar), I say we do everything we can to make these things more drivable and enjoyable. Screw originality, if it never makes it out of the garage then no one can experience it. Electric fuel pumps and EFI for all!

Cut it up and make something cool. We'll all be dead and most of our junk will end up in the crusher eventually.

If you sell overseas you can make money. That activity makes me want to throw up. Like cash for clunkers and high scrap prices. And parting out perfectly good cars/trucks/antique farm equipment. But I'm a sucker for a "lost cause".

No argument that you can make money that way, just seems a shame to lose those cars forever.

I know a guy that molly coddled everything he owned. Has one of the cleanest CJ5 Jeeps you'll ever see in your life. He passed, Son lets it sit out and drives it in the salt.
Enjoy what you have now, before the future runs it into the scrap yard.
He also had the nicest John Deere tractor you ever saw, bought it new and repainted it with 800 coats of hand rubbed lacquer, removed the decals, hand paints them on for a few 1000 bucks, it's sitting out in the yard caked in mud and grass as well.
