I haven't done much with my 92 Mustang the last few years since I bought the AMX, so I tore it apart in December for some weight reduction surgery. My buddy Jeff at JR Racecraft does some really nice chassis work, and is updating the car with a tubular front half, 'glass doors and trunk lid, and polycarbonate windows. The hole in the firewall from the master cylinder will be filled, and a Willwood brake pedal with dual cylinders will be inside the fiberglass dash. I have cut out most of the inner body structure too, gotta get moar light! TURR3056 by Joe Pinsoneault, on Flickr IMG_20130406_115534_zps9d314e81 by Joe Pinsoneault, on Flickr

It's a mini tub 25.5 chassis with stock mounting point suspension (even I have a hard time saying "stock" suspension lol). 440" sbf with Glidden Victor heads, big cam (.931", .911" with 1.8 Jesels), 13.6:1, 5 stage dry sump, single fogger progressed nitrous system. Reed case powerglide with 1.69 gearset. Strange 9" rear axle with Mark Williams aluminum center, 4.30 gear. Weighed 2815 with me. On 275 radials/no wheelie bars has been 1.10 60', 4.88 @ 145 mph to 1/8 in Milan's Drag Radial class (I think that's roughly 7.60's in the 1/4, the class only runs 1/8 th). Every year sb nos minimum weight rule gets lighter and I haven't kept up, this year it is down to 2300 lbs with driver. There is no way in hell I'll get that light, but I'll do what I can afford. I may put slicks back on this year as well. The radials are fast tires, but I can only go down the track when Milan glues and preps during the once a month heads up race. The slicks may be a bit slower but are much more forgiving on a marginal track.

Very cool, still miss your Javelin though... Thanks, and you just reminded me that I found my old Javelin in a 7 year old Youtube video. Does anybody know where this car is now?

I got this from Bob Lucas. Vince L. bought the car and traded it for a Harley to someone in Wisconsin.
