My dad was a huge fan of Packard. He would rave for days about the Packard straight 8.
I would love to get a good deal on an above ground hoist. You scored.

There is a local guy in Toledo that Javtwotone and I have been guiding from time to time. Jav more than me but, he is a car guy that likes to wax muscle cars but has absolutely no clue other than that. He has a nice '69? stang 302 4 speed and a '69 AMX with a wrong, vibrating 360 4 speed. (We think that it has the 390 flywheel on it..) Anyway, Bruce volunteered me to look at the stang because according to the owner it is "making a bad sound" and he thinks that it is transmission. So, I go and take a ride in it tonight. I didn't drive it but it seems to have no clutch or throw out bearing issues. Sounds to me like a rear end issue. It sounds like a straight cut gear whine but it stays at the rear. My first thought is something to do with the posi traction. Hell, I don't know. Anyway my point is man, this is one of those guys who has to totally rely on someone els's advice and pay accordingly. If Bruce checks it out and doesn't want to mess with it, my machinist knows a ford guy who is totally in to it. I guess it is who you know and trust these days if you can't do it yourself.

Those cars sitting out in the yard rusting make me sad. I guess you can't save them all, but it still doesn't feel good, does it? Oh, and nice work on the lift, $500 ain't much for a lift!

I just took this picture last night behind my Machinists place. There is a big old Old's lover that has a steak in the property I think. I will try to get a picture in the sunlight to replace this on. Chuck has the first year V8 Vette tucked away in his building as well. Oh yea, big money car.

Yeah, that's (part of) Bill Ehrsam's stash. In the Oldsmobile community, he is literally known as "Mr.Oldsmobile"... has some blow-your-mind gorgeous restored 49-50 Oldsmobiles that have been published in a lot of magazines. He raced them back in the early 60's (and I believe he held a couple of NHRA National-records while still in high school)... untill he got beat by a Studebaker... so he started restoring the Oldmobiles, and racing this:
