I would use a set screw if the hole didn't have a Heli-Coil in it. With my luck, the set screw would seal but the oil would wick around the Heli-Coil. Oil can do some strange things sometimes. (shock absorber experience) I am sure he put the Heli-Coil in with Loctite as well but that is just 2 potential places for oil flow. I don't know, the washer seems to be holding but I have only ran it for 4 times until it gets hot so far. I am not ruling out the set screw idea just yet either. I need to put my Engineering hat on and think about if the threads would seal better with a bolt and washer face or a set screw bottomed out in the hole. Oh and lets not forget, there is some thermal things to consider... I will ponder it tomorrow but right now the bolt and washer holds with out Loctite.

That noise is the electric fan on the back of the radiator. It is really not that loud but the camera seems to make it louder. Must be it handles pressure borne noise differently than structure borne noises. (how is that for tech BS?) I hope to deliver the engine this week end!

Yea.. for the meager price of gas and tolls. Besides, it gives me a chance to hang around with NEJoe and see Chuck & Chuck Jr. who are all AMCbudd's. Here is the fix for the kick down bracket.

England bound!! This is a 360 with the Edelbrock cam and intake that I built a few years ago. I got it back in trade with about 100 miles on it so, it is still new inside. Long story short, a lady in England bought a '72 Javelin off of E-pay and of coarse it was a pos needing complete restoration including drive train. She posted up somewhere that she needed a engine so, here we go.. After a few emails and a call from her restoration shop she also wants me to arrange for a transmission. She want's some pretty dress-up items on it as well. And..... Chuck called me yesterday to come over and get two more engines that are all machined and ready to go. Now, I just have to get my ass in to overdrive and get on these things. 8. 390/401 Jeep Guy: Block is preped, cam bearings installed 53. dcheek45: Extreme Farm Guy Technology in the making. Need to ge the plumbing done. 54. NEJoe's390#2: I think that I have all of the parts to get the machining going. 55. MySC/360...360. At the machine shop. 56. team5050... 426 stroker street engine. Crank is done. 57. javtwotone 383 stroker: Crank sent to the machine shop... Needs to go back. He forgot to widen the journals. All is good, he will fix it. 58. JCJeep401: All machined and ready to assemble. Need heads. 60. 67RogueXCode: 343 block, 360 crank: Needs assembled 62. 401_1974_Javelin_: Solid lifter 401. Short block machined. Need heads. 63. JTruck383: Pistons in house crank is at the machine shop. Need to prep a block 64. BC390: 68 390 street engine. Nothing started. 66. NEJoe's390#3: Another pile of parts to build a engine out of. 10: MY MACHINE engine: In the clean room just needs assembled. 67. MN401: Pistons in house. There is talk of two more 360's coming my way for rebuild but, I haven't seen them yet..

Hey good Idea Bob! I am going to double my rates starting right now.. just before I start on your engine. Awhail, I would do it all for free if I could. So would a lot of other guys that I know in the AMC world (like javtwotone, Ketchum's, Stickshifter, the list is long). Updates: Got 6 in my shop ready to go together. One is mine, two I need the owners to bring me heads for, three I just need to put together. I need to tear down a 390 and a 401 and get them to the machine shop. And oh, there is the 3 stroker 383's that I need to get in the works as well and, NEJoe's pair of 390's. Get this.. I had a guy that I have known for quite a while ask me to build a 390 for him. I said sure, what is the time line. He said February. I said, this year!? He said, well I would like to put it in in March. I told him that it takes me a t least a year usually but, I would see what I could do. I don't know, I have the week between Christmas and New Years to get some stuff done.
