Rick, I think I still have some new SFI flexplates for the 727 laying around. I used to drill new holes in them and use them with th400s. Yea, I have too but it is a pain in the ass. I could just take a stock 727 one and convert it too but again, a pain in the ass. Regardless, let me know how much you want for them.

fleetfox. The man, the myth, the legend. As I am driving to the Walton's Mountain and trying like hell not to get lost I finally pass through a pair of red gates that looked to be heading in to a cow pasture. He told me that to pass through some green gates so I figured that he just hadn't learned his colors yet.. I drove up to the house and it turns out that the red gates was for his neighbors place. Ok so, where does Mr. fleetfox live? Through the green gates at the end of his driveway. Uh ok, I head to the direction that he pointed. It was obvious that I wasn't from around there. Sure enough there was a pair green gates. I drive through the green gates somewhat concerned if they were going to be locked behind me. Soon I end up at his place and saw a dude riding a tractor racking hay. I get out of the truck, didn't hear any banjos playing, shook his hand and, he offered me a Labatte Blue Lite. Everything went well from there. IMG_2308 by Rick Jones, on Flickr The truck is going to be a really nice ride. IMG_2313 by Rick Jones, on Flickr Thank you to fleetfox for the hospitality, I had a great time!

Thank you all. I have enjoyed every minute of this build and met a bunch of great people along the way. Including every crusty f%$ on this forum. You guys are awesome. A lot of smart wallets and high standards. Reb, I swapped in 79 j20 axles and re-geared them to 4:10s , I hope that's enough for the 35's. I'm having trouble with traction on the rears so a few things may be addressed later down below. Captain. what can i say, thanks for the compliment. You'd hate the way this motor looks, all pimped out with chrome and braided hoses, but damm it has some serious nutz when you step on the pedal and the back tires start digging holes. If i feel like it can walk a straight line when it's done maybe I'll drop a time slip from VIR one night.... Rick, i can't recall what numbers you tossed around on torque, but this thing is diggin holes ever time i hit the gas. So the "pull the a$$ out of a bear " torque measurement seems pretty close so far. P.S. tell Joe the Barry Grant is dialed in just right and is perfect. I love it. I will twerk the timing again after the final exhaust is done . As for the steps, these have been a pi$$er of sorts. Bought new replacements from the only available source and they're good, but the step portions are f'd. I realized it when I did the pre paint mock up around the time of your visit, and decided to put them away for later as I was running out of warm weather and had a lot of painting to do. Took 3 weekends to reshape the drivers side and paint. The pass side was so off, I f'd with for 2 weekends grinding out the backside and trying to pull it in and finally gave up. Not a big fan of fiberglass. Finally took out the saw, cut it off the bottom, ground, epoxied, glassed and puttied until I was reasonably happy it was close to right. maybe paint this weekend if the weather cooperates. Not bitchin' just sharin'. before> [ 0811191525b
