I cant help but think the time he spent a ARJ enterprises had an influence on all that. They grow up so fast.

With great sadness and disappointment, here is the rest of the story... The great job that my Nephew had turned out to be too much for him he and his boss decided to end it. The same day he called me and asked to come back to work for me so I let him. Since then, he has been working with the VA to get some sort of full time disability benefit pay from the military so that "he will never have to worry about money again". When he said those words it actually pissed me off. He told me that he takes a anitdepressant but all I see is a person fully capable of working. I know and understand that depression can be dehabilitating and maybe I just don't know the whole situation. Regardless, Week before last I was gone for the AMC drags but he was supposed to be here later last Monday morning. By Wednesday I drove to his house and knocked on his door. My car that I had loaned him was sitting in the driveway but he didn't answer the door. Late this morning, one week after he was suppose to be here, I went to his house again and knocked on the door. After the second knock, he looked around the curtain and then walked out. I handed him the $325.00 bill for his truck axle and asked him when he could pay that back. I also asked him if he had time to bring my car back out to my house. He said yea and asked if I could give him a ride back. No words were spoken on the ride back to his house. When we got there I asked if he would be able to pay the $325.00 back in two weeks and he said that he would try but it would probably take a month. Then I told him to try to pay half back in two weeks and worry about the rest after that. He said ok then after a long period he said that he was sorry. My only response was, you need to look up the meaning of common courtesy and learn what it means. Then he got out of the truck. In the last week I have gone way passed being pissed off to being just very sad about it. I just don't understand the mentality.

Was he ever a big a go getter/hustler, then not after he came back?
My Kid bought his Truck off of a Disabled Combat Vet. The Truck had Purple Heart plates on it. The Guy walked with a limp and had some obvious bad burning... He was upset they didn't allow him to work. The did a Psych eval on him at the VA and they said he'd kill someone in a work environment. He said he felt fine, and felt great at work. With no choice of his own, they MADE him go on disability. Now that upset him.

30+ years supervising people, I can't say there was a definite tread with guys from a military background. They were all over the place as far as work ethic and attitude.. Sorry about your nephew, it seemed like he was getting a clue from what I saw of him a couple of times. I guess not wanting to worry about money is a lofty goal when you don't have jack shit, or ambition to have anything. Oh, or go places, or make a better life, or better yourself, and on and on.

Always gotta look at the long game..... Another Local HS FB player is "headed to the NFL. Now I have to wait 2-5 years to see how that works out. His two Brothers before him failed, and don't even have paying jobs. The one is an assit Baseball Coach at a College. That rarely pays for a recent Grad, you just do that for free for "work experience" Better hope lil Bro does make it to support his POS loser Garbage Can Brothers that made the front page of the Sports section for 4 years each in HS as the Greatest ever, then sucked big dick in College.

He sent me a text the night after I made him bring my car back. Says that he shut everyone out for a while and needed a break to focus and put all of his VA stuff together. Then said that he was sorry and asked for forgiveness. I guess multitasking is not his forte. Neither is common courtesy which is what got me all jacked. up. To me, it seems like he is 35 going on 15 sometimes. Except, I was not like that when I was 15... Regardless, I am giving him another chance.

Family has to be the absolute worst to deal with. There's always some sort of drama ( bullshit) to get sucked into. Is this a one last chance you're giving him? Life's not a ball game. 2 strikes and you're out?

I hope he realizes how Lucky he is to have a Family member that continues to help him out.

And the saga continues... So he has been working along fine and 2 weekends ago I made a trip out to NEJoe's. While I am gone, Kyle feeds my dog and cats for the use of my car. It is my Daughter's old Ford Confusion which is fast becoming a POS. While driving to my house to feed the dog he ditched my car that I again loaned to him. Tow truck driver told me over the phone that it was totaled. It was raining and he was going to fast plain and simple. A cop had to be called and now there is 2 points on his license. It took us a day and a half to Frankenstein it back together but it is on the road again. I told him that he will be paying for the car on a value that it was before he borrowed it plus the towing bill (he didn't have any money to pay it) plus the cost of the parts to put it back together. While we were at NAPA buying screws and glue to put it back together with I asked Dave the owner if he still needed help. He said yea he could a stock guy that could work in to a counterperson. I said well Kyle here needs a job.. So long story short he starts Monday at $11.00/hr. He also has a gig to set up phones for disabled Veterans for $24.00 a gig plus travel which starts next week. He was telling me all aout this and I responded with something like, Good! Maybe now you can get pull head out of your ass and get your shit together. He is in to me for about $650.00 now and his truck is still broke and he has my borrowed car which I just spent $137.00 more dollars on for a new battery. And it needs new tires...LOL! All I can do is call him Crash, shake my head and move on... At least he can say that I never gave up on him. And I prolly won't make him pay for the car.
