63. Donzi383stroker: Ready to ship to Sweden! Well, first it ships to Florida then it goes to Sweden. I had a little smoke issue with this one. It smoked like hell when I first started it and then seem to clear up but never completely. Long story short, I followed the instructions and had all of the oil rings in upside-down. Yea, the fkn instructions stated if no dot and inside bevel to install bevel side up - Wrong!. Tore it down, flipped the rings over and no smoke. I ran about 3 gallons of gas through that thing for a total of like 2 hours and you would not believe the oil build up on the valves. I should have taken a picture. Well, some hours later and a new gasket set, it runs like a top. IMG_0771 by Rick Jones, on Flickr IMG_0765 by Rick Jones, on Flickr So much for retirement.. Rick, you know if you delivered an engine to Sweden or France yourself, the trip would be a business expense write off.

I was going to use this block for the one going to Italy. Not! It was rusty and flaky so I took it to a chemical stripper to get it cleaned up. I have never seen one this pitted and flaky. it is like the cast iron is delaminating. The gasket surfaces are so pitted that I am just going to scrap the whole block including the main caps. Yikes! Is that the one you got from me? If so, I'm worried about the 291C heads that came off that engine.

No. I have had this one in the pile for a few years. I have never seen one like this one. The blocks that I have "stored" outside in the scrap pile look better than this one.

Yup. Salt. I seen truck engines that have spent their winters in the rust belt. Look like they have tree bark growin on em

86. acm383stroker: Bullet Cam. No instructions or lube to smear on it so, I used this stuff. IMG_1001 by Rick Jones, on Flickr Misses the oil slot by half. IMG_0995 by Rick Jones, on Flickr I hogged it out with my die grinder as usual. IMG_0996 by Rick Jones, on Flickr This one had really hollow slots in front so I only closed up the one where the slot comes through. IMG_0999 by Rick Jones, on Flickr

Piston dish pattern is intriguing. Who made em?

Race-Tech out of CA. I don't know who designed it but it is the same as the one that Bultear sells.
