Those are a work of art. Build a fixture so that you can replicate them. Except they have to fit the small cars and every Jeep application as well. I tried to get this across to the golden header guy but he didn't want to listen.

It got up to 40 yesterday. It was 23 that morning. And it was the coldest morning of the year here. Monday never got above freezing and it was the coldest day of the year. People thought last month all the cold was over, with the mild weather. Trees were blooming. Old timers know better. There is always a late freeze in early march. All the water in the yard was frozen yesterday. The elms are blooming. Old texans know you watch the mesquite trees. When they bud winter is done. So it took three weeks to get that header where it is. Still gotta finish a collector flange and weld it on. Notice the 1-3/4 pipe is aluminized. Shit is hard to gas weld. Hadta buzz off the alumicote as best i could. There are some mistakes in there. #6 tube is closer to the crossmember than i want. I shoulda paid more attention when i figured it. The 6&8 tubes are pretty snakey to get 28 inch. Not unhappy with the header, just see things that could be better. The tubes ended up 40 inch from flange to flange, and are about as long as can practically fit, without modding the trans xmember... On to the drivers side. Which will be harder.

I tried to get this across to the golden header guy but he didn't want to listen. Yeah they only fit a javelin or bigger body. And im not worried about making a fixture to duplicate them. No true red white and blue gaymcer would pay money for a set. Besides they are 1-1/2 inch tube. No true gaymcer would see the logic in that. These were built for all the low end power a 304 can give me. No gaymcer would want low end torque. Its all about a big peak horsepower number. No gaymcer would think of tuning for useable power!

And honestly thanks for the nice positive comments all. I enjoy doing stuff like this and showing off my old school fabrication techniques. If you guys study the pictures, notice the tubes angles and easy turns as they exit the head. Shooting for a duplicate angle and radius on evrry port, to not disturb the dogleg magic... following the idea that jelled out from the million dollar “ grace dugan” technology that i didnt rip off in any way😎 cuz its proprietary spudtek from spudlabs inc. that i dont care if anyone duplicates or otherwise rips off due to it being free teck that anyone can use or not since nobody is gonna build a set of headers!🤣

No truer words could ever be spoken. They all think they either need 1 7/8"+ primaries and a 600 carb.

I usetacood gas weld really well. About 25 years ago. Gas welding is a relaxing pastime. Sure every once in a while it pops and burns you . But its all part of the sport. Welding thin exhaust tube is kinda challenging. Try and get the tightest most uniform fit possible at the joint. Then you can weld with little ir no filler. That makes for easy welds that look good. Sure a heliarc machine would do better. Fresh outa those at spudlabs inc.

I have a TIG machine. It gets used so infrequently, that by the time I get my touch back and get nice welds, I'm pretty much done with the project. I wire feed weld just about everything these days with the PowCon that I pulled out of a trash can and repaired.

LOL. You'd be better off buying one off the local Craigslist. Suckers weigh a ton. I'm still trying to decide if it's worth it for me to spend $400 on a pulse controller.
