How many times.. I don't get it.. WTF! How did these old engines that might have made 250HP on a good day be capable of making 400+ HP at the snap of a finger.. Said it before, I am going to just add 100 HP to all my estimates when people ask me how much horsepower a particular pile of performance parts will make. I need some of the magic horsepower dust that apparently is out there. Pisses me off. No one asks for 400 #/ft of torque which is what they are feeling. I mean, how cool is it to mash the throttle at about 2500 in first gear and absolutely ignite the tires. It is PFC in my book. OK, done with the rant.. Maybe he can get 300, then he can say it makes 400. Close enough for a boatanchor. Why do these guys fuck with 343’s when a 360 has so much advantage? I think i would be happy with 300 out of my 304. Thats like twice what it makes now. But then it would suck on the street. I think i’ll just not want anything and be ok. A stock 360 is way better than a hot rodded 304. I keep getting sucked into the amc suckers bet. Just move ahead and get a 5.3 LS spud. Nobody gives a shit whats under the hood of my pile of shit green rambler anyways. What year is it again?

I’m the only old musclecar in the street class at the musclecar drags. As a matter of fact, most of the cars racing are new musclecars. And most of the old chevies run LS power. But thats at the race track. Now if some dumb gaymcer wants to brag about his 500 horse 343 In a streetcruiser, well thats good for a chuckle and thats all.

Yep, at the track where some cars don't get much usage. Sounds like maybe his Wifey wants more of a daily type of deal. EFI and OD is the best for that.
I still find it funny, back in the 80s a 14 sec car was king of the street. even tho most RTs Blowpars and the likes were supposed to be factory 13-14 sec cars, most ran 16s, esp after people touched em. 1 guy out of 10,000 had the slightest clue about a carb was the main thing.
Now with EFI every dummy in the world has a DD 10sec car. Easy as cake as long as ya got the green. EFI takes little skill or brains to make fast. So the dummy in that p[ost needs a new car, and possibly boost it.
and with this guy having to ask on a forum, esp that one, image the blown up mess that thing will be in his driveway after he has a Chevy machinist do his work, goes LS rockers, 274 ex comp cam, gAyMC carb recommendation, etc etc and the list goes on. I see more shredder weight coming.

That reminds me I did see a comment from a AMC racer about running a LS makes you gay. Welp the only AMC I know that won it's class at Drag Week was a LS powered AMC. Yep, got first place, not 7th out of 9 cars type of shit.
Maybe an AMC power AMC needs to win it's class, beat Big Queef or Ol' Heavy, then talk a bunch of shit.
But back in 1972.....

But it only matters if you want real power. If you just want a cruiser with a crossram you can putt down to the burger barn in on sunday, your good with anything.And thats okeedokee. I know the deal. I still enjoy it and the people with new muscle cars appreciate seeing the old crap, its scarcer all the time. Its just nostalgia and any new muscle can kick my ass, except v6 stuff. I got most all of them covered. I dont take the horsepower discussions seriously, because its normally a noob that brings it up. Power doesnt matter. Dont blow your cover. If your not gonna go to the track and have some fun just shut the fuck up. Reality dictates you just putt it down to the burgerbarn and keep it cool, dont get in any streetraces and just keep it on the downlow your machine is nothing. Yeah it looks like a bomb but forget it. Modern shit has your ass kicked. And dont be stupid and take on hi end modern muscle with power and traction control. You just look like a fool.

I have nothing but turds and am quite content. They'll blast the tires and put ya in the seat a little. I'm also real content when my 200 hp turd hands it t one of these cluesless "400-500HP" guys. that's funny as shit.
It's like, wtf happened dude? you have 2-3 times the power and are behind me? Spent all that money and time just to be slower than a 3800lb empty 2.0 4 banger Regal.

Just like when we were heading to one of one son's College games. I was following a gorgeous 75-77 Camaro. Had headers and big pipes hanging under it. He kept surging, 40-55 mph, pissing me off. I want to get to the field and get my seat at the 50 yard line before someone else took it. So we got a nice stretch of road, I broke out around him, he nailed it, his car was so loud it rattled out window for about a second and I was gone. We were loaded down prolly 4400 lbs or so. Stomped the fuck out of his built up dinosaur Chebby V8 with a old 2012 2.0 Turbo Regal with Fagnablow exhaust. My Wife waved bye bye at him and laughed. ROTF
