Oh, I forgot one thing. If the motor wasn't built by spud, Rick or TV Jim, then it's parts.

I’m retired. I ‘m done working for free building motors that rot in garages and never see the light of day. Out of the last five engines i have built, four have never started and three are still not installed. Last one i built was four years ago. I only have time for my own adventures.

I was just talking about this yesterday. The Flash in the pans people are. Buncha young guys who had Cars a few years back are done with Cars already. They have GREAT paying jobs, so money isn't an excuse. Just fad boyzzzzzz
For the jobs they have, they should be on Street Outlaws. It's fucking easy when you have 5 million to drop on a car.

The thing about old car hobby or hot rodding is its not something anyone can do. People give it a go, and find out the hard way there is a fuckton of pitfalls. Its not exactly auto tech. I have a lifetime of tools parts experience and none of it came cheap or easy. I play with cars because i honestly dont wanna do anything else. On my days off i wake up and put my clothes on and go to work and dont stop till its dark. I dont eat or anything all day, just work on my cars and putter around the garage untill i cant see to work. Cuz thats what i want to do. I do all manner of shit, everything i can accomplish by myself, i do take parts to a machine shop for operations i cant do. If i had $ and years left i would love to have machines for boring and grinding, but thats not my balileywig. I got plenty of projects i will never finish. Retirement to me is a bittersweet letdown, i want to do all i can while i still can see and lift and hold onto wrenches. It takes a lifetime to master things, and when you have your on the downhill crash. I would dearly love to know some kids who were into this archaeic craft, i could help them and they could help me. But its just me. A crazy old lone white guy in the ghetto.

Oh and them talking about re-ring and bearing the engine. oh fuck no, if it's running right now, I'd rather have it like that. Then take a perfectly fine running engine and fuck with it. Ya got lucky the first time.... How many times ya tightened down on them same Rods bolts. Kah Blam. no thanks.

I never added up what I had in the engine of the old blue Ambassador. It wasn't anything spectacular. Ran good for me, and ran good in it's new home(Rogue) when I parted with it. As I hear from the new owner it had an overhaul this spring, so maybe 15+ years on the clock buzzing down the track.

Now Boris is calling BS on low 12s with an Eddy headed, 10:1 401 with a big cam IMO in a little Jeep. WTF. Should be running 10s in the Gremlin at 3000'
Funny how all these tracks are to 7000+ foot, yet everyone who comes to 1200' Quaker runs slower. "There's something worng with my Car" ***Goes back to their track*** "It fixed itself"
Tired of hearing the gay elevation excuse. Like, "if I were at Sea Level it would" Yeah, well your rich, trailer the bitch up and take it to a sea level track.... Fine you run 10s at 6000' lets see you run 8s at sea level then. Oh wait 1000 is worth a 1/10s tops.

I dont really get what it matters. Pretty tame 401’s have run into the 12’s. Its not all about the engine. What someones car runs shouldn’t matter to people who spend their life on the internet. They will never win or get beat or get a timeslip or break their dustcollector. They should shut up and order another pizza.

Oh i will. Sooner or later someone shows up with a pickup truck full of rusty clapped out scrap they want me to kill myself trying to make run for fun . I’m not near as optimistic, or motivated. Now i crush theit dreams and hit em with brutal honesty. And i dont go on searches looking for useable stuff to replace the stuff they let rot for 30 years. Sometimes that works and they give up
