Got satisfied today. 1953 Willys. Runs but smokes like crazy. Just what I need, another project. 007_zps0b20e3d0 by Rick Jones, on Flickr

I like. I've always wanted to take one of those Willy's bodies and put it on like a Waggie frame.

Exercised old Willy today. Pulled the Hornet out out of the snow and Ice. It has been below zero for I don't know how long and it was like 8 today but that old smoker started.. I was pretty surprised. The 4 wheel drive actually works too!

Hey I just noticed there's no door on that side of your shop... what do you have to do, pull the siding off in order to get the red AMX out?

If I ever pull that thing out of there it would probably be easier to pull the siding off.. The wall inside in the engine room is removable and there IS a door at the other end. But as you have seen, there is about 12 engines between the AMX and the other end..

Well, I decided to hire a local Buddy of mine to restore the brake system on Old Smokey for me. I Sent him a email and asked him how much he is going to charge me. Here is his response:
Farmguy Certified Willys Tech..... WooHoo well it's better then inmate # 345678 ! As to pay, well the IBFCWT (International brotherhood of farmguy certified willys techs) Local 401 policy states cold beer must be provided during all certified / certifiable technical activities. Other then that the union is pretty flexible as to monetary compensation. In other words keep me from being thirsty and kick me a little cigarette money when the job is done Oh and The name of the OHV 4cyl engine is the Hurricane! Bad Ass name for the little squirt.... The 6 was the Typhoon... Something about bad weather and jeeps I suppose. Too bad in the 50's they didn't have an 8, might have been called the Polar Vortex.
