Well i bought another one. 1965 chevy c-20, shortbed, stepside, 3/4 ton, got the sm 365 granny low four speed, late production with 1 ton rear axle substitution, 283, no rust, bought it in south texas, has late model forged 16 inch chevy 3/4 ton wheels, nice shape, 95 percent factory original. Couldn’t pass it up for 2500 bux. Worth ten times that .

I have a 454 sitting here that could use a home. It might end up in a Wagoneer.

454’s are pricey these days. Around here anyways. Too thirsty for me. I think a 350 is all i can tolerate feeding. Once again the LS is the smart choice for a driver. I’m gonna try the 283 and see how it does, but since i already have that LS, well... it might not make it into the roadkill javelin. I kinda doubt I will mess with this chevy too much. I never did tinker with my 68 a lot. Every time i say i’m gonna sell something i just buy another vehicle. I has some guy wanting to buy my 68 chevy a few weeks ago, but i told him i wouldnt sell it. I might have changed my mind.

My 5.3 is stupid good on gas. Many tell me they are and the 6.0 is a hog. Not a hog like a BBC or SBC. But quite a few mpg off from the 5.3

My all time fave truck is 55/56/57 and 58 chevy truck. Absolute truck porn. I know of a 57 that i bugged the owner till he died to try and get. Its still in the hayfield. Total waste.

It's always a project they'll get to later.
For some reasonnsince I was a kid, I always thought the GMC V6 was cool. But then I was also drawn to the 348/409 W series engine.

The early gmc v6 was a surprising engine. I dont know exactly if it was the engine or the gearing behind them but those powertrains could workhard. I service a 2 ton gmc dump truck and it worked all day every da for many years, and it was a old truck at that. It worked innumerable loads out of a gravel pit and all over north texas for many years without fail, wound up tight on the highway, or out of the hole in low low.
