Guessing the steep first gear is nice for getting the barge moving from a stop.... Very cool BTW

Thanks The ancient AFB and 70 iron lung intake really changed the engine. Doesn't even sound the same. Carb came off of a 70 390 AMX with 58k. Guy went with an Edelbrock and Holley. Don't know why because I'd venture to say the secondaries haven't been open in 20 years by how they were frozen in place.i had the carb torn down and sitting in a roasting pan full of carb cleaner. My guess is he only changed it because the choke thermostat housing was corroded and locked up. The butterfly rod was disconnected so it stayed open.
