Ive brought home a few adventures. None were more than 40 miles though. 2 of them different brands had same ailment inline 6 with blown water pumps that were driven til they quit. Both died the same way. #1 piston melted down the hole

This is a 290 in the Convertible that I bought from NEJoe. It hasn't ran in ? years. According to the VIN the car is suppose to have a 290 2 barrel. Joe thought that it was replaced with a service engine or something. The engine tag on the valve cover says it is a 1969 290 2V assembled in March 7,1969. The 4V intake manifold is a 1969 as well. The Carter carb is from a 1967 manual transmission vehicle. Whatever... It runs. Not great but, it runs. I couldn't get spark at a plug so I threw some used points and it immediatly fired. The memories are coming back now.. When I was first married at 21 I was in need of a winter beater so that I didn't have to drive my AMX. I found a 66 Classic that "needed some work" for $40. It would start and run but hammered like a bitch. I looked down and saw a hole in the side of the block and a crank flipping around. I think I got the car for like $20.00 or something like that. The adventure was having my uncle with his 440 mopar station wagon chain tow me home about 25 miles away on the muddy back roads. Even with no wipers and a windshield plastered with mud we made it without issue. The next day I bought a 1970 Gremlin for the engine and changed it in my Grandpa's barn with a chain falls not realizing that it was a 13" wheel, no back seat rare as hell Gremlin. OH, and I tore the Classic's engine down just to see the carnage. That thing was actually running with a broken rod and the piston bouncing between the crank and head.
