Got the headlights working again. Bad switch. I still have no turn signals when the headlights are on though.

Got all the lights working now. The usual culprits; bad connections in the sockets, bad bulbs, bad grounds.

Yeah. Just some elbow grease, a test light, and a Fluke meter.

Superhuman troubleshooting skills like that aren't normal human traits. Must be an offspring from one of those human alien hybrids that were mixed into society from Area-51.

You can spot a natural troubleshooter by the length of their ring finger.and middle finger If they are the same length, they are more artistic and less the troubleshooter. I know it sounds like nonsense but i can attest to the accuracy of this

I tore the carb down today and put a kit in it. I probably should have sent it to n2ojoe. The off idle hesitation and part throttle stumble are gone, massively improving driveability. Idle quality still isn't what I want, it kind of acts like it's loading up a little and it tends to pop back through the carb when getting into the secondaries, indicating that it's leaning out when they open. Work, work, work. I'm starting to appreciate the checkbook strategy more and more as I get older.

Yep, getting older can have that affect on you. Hence why I told my kid and Wife to go buy new shit with Warranties from now on. It's not bad dicking around with a "Toy," but the Car that has to run right now, to put bread on the table, just sucks. Blown knees, fat, stiff and old doesn't lend well to laying on a Cold garage floor anymore. And that's with a garage. When I was young, I had no issues with laying under them on gravel, outside, in the rain or snow. I guess doing that stuff caught up with me. Plus the cars are more complicated now.

I may clean the plugs, cap, and rotor, and install some new plug wires tomorrow, just in case my carb problem is in the distributor after all. Considering that I've done none of those things since I bought the truck in '06.

No doubt it's a crappy carb. I just like to cover all the simple stuff before I swap intake manifolds. 'Cause, yaknow, if I have the intake off, I may as well pull the heads to fix the broken exhaust bolts. And if I'm gonna do that, I may as well swap in a better cam and new timing set. And if I'm gonna do that, I may as well have the crank turned and get new rings, bearings, and gaskets. Can of worms opened, and the next thing ya know, my truck will be fully Barted.
