Thought I would wait a few days until I cooled down. Got a Silver in the non stock Senior Division. How the hell do you drop down from gold in the junior division to a silver when the car has NEVER looked better. They say they look closer at the car.....I call BS. Just judge all the cars in all classes the same!!! Every time I show I get inexperienced or highly opinionated judges. This AMX is driven....not trailered and hell yes it's not perfect. If you had seen some of the cars that got gold you would understand. Rant over! I feel better now.

The judge's job is a thankless one. No one wants to do it so they get whoever thay can to train in 30 seconds to do it. Most of the time they have to go around and beg people to do it. Yes ideally, you would have one set of judges to consistently judge the cars year after year. It will never happen. So in that case, how do you set up a judging form to be consistent with the same car year after year? Not so easy to do either. Hey Rick, you wanna judge at Greenmead this year!?

Welp, Congrats on winning something. Be glad the GOD of AMC wasn't judging. He might have gave you a used piece of toilet paper and called you a few names.

Way back when I was showing my two-seater a lot, I was at a national meet and got a junior gold. The next year it got a bronze........ So I know what you are saying, but I agree with SC397. my suggestion would be to at least pick a couple of different level cars and have newbie judges see what guidelines to use for marking a 4 or 5 down versus an 8 or 9. I remember a Glass City show (when it was still at Vollmers Park) that cars were getting gold and silver awards and they were basically crap daily driver quality shit. All first time judges........

Oh the joys of being judged in a very subjective way. NO THANKS! And this is a prime example of why I will never have a show car or have my stuff "judged". Time slips don't play favorites nor care if you are liked.

I might just come up and judge. I won't bring the AMX because it's leaking oil all over the place. I have been under it and I still can't seem to find the leaks.

Check those cheep-ass rocker arm covers first. You may have to double gasket them to get them to seal.
