I read the Synth doesn't burn as well. It depends on if it has any gas is mixed in with it. LOL! I saw on line that one of the issues with it is that the normal change period is like double of conventional oil so more time for gas get absorbed in it. If it resembles oil it will burn.... How well and what nastiness is leftover afterward is another thing.

Yeah, I just did a quick search on it with these heaters and guys recommended mixing it with Dino or whatnot. It's getting harder to come by Dino.
FWIW I burn apers in a 55 gal drum at the house, I dump a little used motor oil in when I do. I seem to notice my barrel doesn't get as hot as it used to, when all I burned was dino...

A good day today! javtwotone helped me out with 20 gallons of oil so far and a nice clean 55 gallon drum to hold it. I am going back tomorrow to fill up my 5 gallon cans again. Talked with NEJoe and he said that he has $8,000.00 worth the brand new Jet Engine oil for me!.... Which is a 55 gallon drum worth. LOL! That will probably burn extra special. Meanwhile, today I am burning new Shock Absorber oil in it mixed with whatever else is in the tank including vegetable oil. A Special Blend as it were. The next modification will be adding a fresh air vent to it. There are no real fumes but I get a slight headache every now and then. I have 3 fuel oil furnaces, a space heater, and now this waste oil burner and none have fresh air return... yet. The air intake on all of them is whatever air that is in the shop, no duct work. I just got another $1,250.00 load of fuel oil yesterday. This brings my total to $4,550.00 for the season and I will not buy any more this winter. And I will not be spending that much next winter. Maybe I will just go live with Spud for the month of February next year.

Season two of the heating season has started. Just got 254 gallons of fuel oil for my normal furnace at a cost of $1,200.00. We will see how long that lasts. Fired up the Eliminator without issue. I burned 225 gallons of used oil last season and have about 160 gallons to start this season out with. Thanks goes to all of my Buddys who donated to the cause! Big Brother put a halt to the Jet Engine oil but that is ok. The oil seems to be flowing in at a rate that I can manage.
