I just got a pair of slightly used edelbrock heads and was thinking about using them in a 417cui engine build I'm planing on doing
Does anyone know if they can be opened up to a 2.4 min CSA ? I read somewhere that they are 1.99" min CSA in stock form Also can the bowl be enlargaed to accommodate a 2.100" intake valve Also read somewhere about some boiling issues with the edelbrocks but did not find any details about that issue
Here is what I am hoping to be able to do
401 block 4.180" bore Old Billet Crower crank 3.8" stroke 2.1" rod journal 6" 2.1" Molnar rods Forged piston 1mm rings and 3mm oil ring 10.5 compression Ported edelbrock heads Ported Victor Jr intake 1050cfm Domintator carb Solid roller cam (has not been made) BAM DLC Solid roller lifters
The plan is to try to run 8.99 with a small 150 hp shot of NOS in my Gremlin which has currently run best 9.78 with steel heads and flat tappet.
The compression is on the low side because I want to be able to convert it to a street engine after I either go into the 8's or give up and assemble my all aluminum Indy stuff and put it in the Gremmy
Any advice is a appreciated
