Man, I'm with you on that... there was one of these running around Sylvania with a 365-horse 327 in, back around '67. You could tell when the left front tire was off the ground, because the right door would pop open!!!!! There was also a 392-hemi powered Henry-J... wonder if either one of those still exist.

I think I saw that car in Port Perry Canada today at the Rambler Rama. Well.... I am sure it wasn't that exact car but it was the same model, same color...

I checked the car out tonight. The pictures make it look better than it is. I got it started up and kicked the tires with the guy for about a hour. The longer I looked, the more bubbles I found. The guy bought it sight unseen 10 months ago and drove it home and he has not drove it sense. It was sold to him as a 35000 original car. It is not.. A cool car but he paid way too much for it and will loose money if he gets 7K out of it. I am not a expert on them but I really can't see more than $4500.00 for it.

Yep, $4500 would be a stretch. 52 year old original metallic paint that still has a gloss shine? Sure, what ever he says. So the guy buys it sight unseen but doesn't drive it for a year? That is a BS story for sure. Unless he realized he got screwed and now he's trying to re-coop his fuck up.

Sounds more like he has no clue what he is looking at, and not what to expect from a 63 year old car (though you egg head engineers could add)even with 35K on it, it could still be a mess......

The guy is a older fellow and bought it sight unseen. He got took. His buddy posted it up on Craigslist for him and he doesnt' even know what was written about it. He knows that it is not original and he is not misrepresenting the car at all. Nothing he told me is BS. He was surprised it even started after sitting so long. Hell, he didn't even know what a oil bath air cleaner is. He has a 67 chebbytwo that is hotrodded up and it's sitting in the driveway too along with the minivans. Feel bad for the guy but not 7 grand bad...

I could go for a rice motor in the form of a Nissan/Infinity 4.5/5.0/5.6L V-8 or a VQ30DETT V-6 or even a VR38DETT. Some of those Skylines and GT-Rs easily put out over 1000hp and do it with the AC and the stereo on. The plywood wing I figgered for a joke. ;-)

I have had the opportunity to ride in both the right hand drive Skyline and the GT-R on the Nissan Prooving grounds in AZ. Impressive engineering. The cool thing about the Nissan guys that I have worked with is that most of them are gearheads be it a rice burner, drag racer, muscle car, bike, demolition derby, whatever.

Ya' got a point there, spud.
Nissan has made some pretty kickass motors over the years, and they have sometimes put them in junk that was damn near as bad as that '53 Aero. LOL.
