Nipple? WTF are you talking about? It's little check valve in a rubber gromet.

I measured the other end( the top of the valve assembly that sticks above the grommet and is hooked to a rubber hose )and cross referenced the Russell braided tubing size I was looking for.
Thanks.

Going out to the garage and measuring it. What a novel, and if I do say, avant-garde idea.

Actually, for me, what Rick did, taking his hard earned time to help out is the avant garde thing.

Hey Rick, I don't own a tape measure or a cheap dial caliper. Can you drop what you're doing and go measure a heater hose inlet for me?

5/8" from the intake valve or fitting and and 3/4" going back to the water pump. The water pump takes a 13/16" I.D. end but they don't make those any more so you have to lube up the water pump end and slip the 3/4" hose over it. Knew what that one is too I guess.

One of the trickiest questions I ever had was what is the correct flex plate to mount up a M11 to a 290. The answer is... the ONLY vehicle that used a M11 behind a 290 was the 4BBL 290 which was only offered in the 68 and 69 AMX. Seeings how they only made a few hundred 290 automatic AMX's it is going to be kinda hard to find one. So I told them to use a 343 plate and get it balanced.

I get it, but look at it exactly the way Rick put it, he knows it from experience. That works for me. I don't have a lot of time and my car isn't at the house. I work three jobs. So if I can save time by asking those that might know something off the top of their head, then I'm gonna go that way first. If someone wants to crack on me for it then crack away, there will be more opportunities to do it again. I do agree with one thing, Rick is a good man.
