Not sure where to put this, so here it is. Now everyone has assured me global warming is a myth. And warm oceans don't kill coral reefs or make hurricanes. Hurricanes are caused by excess masturbation of air atoms. But anyways there was this smokin big ass hurricane that dumped twice as much water that the state gets in a year in about five days (so far) of constant intense rainfall. And it has flooded the ports and refineries that supply the state with that awesome juice we feed our autos. So today the panic has spread and it's pretty much mad max scenario. People of all manner flocking and fighting to get the last drop of fuel here in Dallas. Tomorrow is another day in chaos Town and we didn't get flooded. Help! Send medicinal marijuana Texas is stressed out

Hunker down and lockn load. I have a hard time feeling sorry for people who have a week or two notice to prepare, and then don't. Hey, there's a hurricane coming in two weeks, buy some fuel, food, and drinking water. And of course, they always wait until there is a foot of water on the ground before they get the idea that they should prepare.

well it was scary watching people up here simply panic because they thought they wouldn't be able to get fuel. Yes there is a shortage. But not a complete lack of fuel. There were actually people fighting over fuel last thursday. I haven't even been to a pump this week. I have taken the opportunity to pump fuel from my old cars and run on that. I still have enough for about two weeks. It's a sign of the future I figure. There is so many people around here now any time adversity strikes chaos isn't far behind. I want to live on the coast, somewhere small like port Mansfield or port Isabel, on the Laguna madre, away from the insane human race. Even with big hurricanes washing the wimps back inland I think I could enjoy life there.

You would be well off to be at least 20 or 30 miles from any major population center, IMO. From what little I know of you, you are smart enough to survive a hard time, but most folk aren't. That's why they panic so fast. That, and not being able to plan further than 20 minutes into the future.

This is why I keep my vehicles fuel levels above 3/4. I can GTFO at anytime and not have to stop!

Hell yeah. I was a Boy Scout. Not a good one but I do know the value in being prepared. One thing I wish I had would be a good maybe 4.0 liter diesel powered multi terrain escape vehicle. With forward and rear machine guns.... that fired NATO bullets. And numerous other handy features. Either that or a sailboat that would make it to New Guinea safely
