Scanning Epay this morning. This amc crap has turned to gold! 343 crank 1200 bucks and cars are going thru the roof...WTF? Guess I had better increase the insured value by about 20 grand. I’m way low I guess.

I believe that that was a forged crank wasn't it? A billet crank will cost you more than that, a de-stroked crank will probably run you in that range.

The forged 343 crank is pretty hard to find. I have one that is made for Chevy rods and has a 3.25 stroke

It's not for sale. It's in a .020 over bore 360 block. 345 inches, 6 inch eagle sbc small journal rods, 12.5 to one j/e's, jones solid cam, 70 heads, dry dump. Built for vintage road racing. Probably won't pull for shit till 4000 rpm. I should be done with it this month.

Well it's not mine. I am putting it together for someone who has a dream to do vintage road racing in a 68 amx. I think dragracinamc did the ports and installed valves. I finished the heads and did the lower end. It has to run with a dual plane intake so I talked him into using an air gap . The bore and stroke and rod should favor extreme rpm ( which the intake won't favor) thecam specs are somewhat conservative since its big on everything but stroke. I don't think it will really be a strong engine since it is basically a bunch of " gotta be this" stuff. I hate the Chevy valves because they totally fuck up thevalvetrain geometry. The dual plane is a bad thing. The long rods will hurt the torque curve until high Rpms happen. . It is what it is in my opinion.

I've been messing with it for a few years now when I've had time. I'd like to see it run someday. The owner has had the car for many years and it is basically a hull on a spit so I'm not gonna get all impatient on hearing it run or seeing it tear down a straight section of track yaknow. I just want it done so I can get my $ and make the handoff so he won't be waiting on me after all the time I've had the parts. I think I've had the block and crank for maybe ten years now

Yeah the cam specs.... hmm that cam card... now where is that? Hell I've changed women and moved since I saw that ..:😆 I do recall it's a hair bigger than the SigErson solid lifter am hi flow IV in my javelin, something t like 244/246 and 550 lift on a 108 lsa. Jones recommendations for the numbers involved.

Where does this guy find all this stuff? He gets like 150 Tunnel Rams, and 600 401s a year to flip.
He prolly pulls down $200,000 a year flipping.

Just some crazy people out there. I think I liked it better 30 years ago when I thought I was the only AMC guy on the planet.
