50-60 miles away, and I saw it as well... caught off guard, and thought it was lightning or something but it just didn't seem normal. Found out on the morning news. Time to start on that bomb shelter, or not

We had a pretty cool one in Western PA back in the late 90s. We saw it going almost parallel with the Earth and one hell of a big bang. We were hanging out on a corner looking for street races.
