They look pretty nice. Kinda spendy. But hey, a sixer of decent beer is damn near $12 these days.

I never realized my Jav had 5-6" thick frame rails to protect a 3" collector and flange over a speed bump like that. I'm still enjoying "we'll quote you all privately...." Summit lists their prices. They're not like "Illegal Al" who was just deported. His store didn't have prices on anything and he charged Blacks more.

I think I'm calling the price pretty close, cause 70-81 Camaro headers are $1300 and he's going on about the difficulty of building an AMC flange and a Chevy flange could be built buy a 3 year old girl with a drill and hacksaw.

I'm sure that it is much more difficult to program the plasma burner to cut a dogleg than an oval. :-)

Yeah, those Machines are pretty crude, huh.
2018 and we're behind the 1970s in manufacturing tech, when they made the first dogleg header.
Herb Tarlik sales pitch.

I wonder how many of these Lawn Chair haulers will still be interested when they get the price?
Heck it seem most "big bodies" are getting restored to stock and the ol' Matty's and Ambo's are still getting cut up for parts. How big is the market for a 1600-2000 buck header? I see one AMC powered AMC a year at my track. Sure looks like there's a huge market of AMC racers to cater to.

I look at it like the "shorty" market... Everyone was crying because you couldn't get them for an AMC. Edelbrock finally made them but the price was too high ($425?) for the AMC crowd so Eddy stopped making them. What happened to all of the guys that wanted them so bad? I am sorry but this project will probably go the same direction. A few guys will buy these headers but the biggest part of the hobby will avoid them because of the price. Who ever said AMC'ers are cheap? These will probably end up fading into history after a year or two of poor sales...

Perfectly put, Joe. $425 was way too much and these clowns are over there chatting away about $1600 headers that won't have the ground clearance of a shorty, they will never buy.

Speaking of ground clearance, my bud ran the $84 Hedmans back in the day and drove the car to work Everyday in Western PA (read, shit fucking roads) and he didn't have problems. Are these guy rock climbing? Also, if it's that bad, do the cretin thing I did to a cheap set before. I waited till it was 98 degrees out, got the engine real hot and threw a jack under the header. GASP! OMG you can't do that!!!!! My loser ass worked in low end shops my whole life, thats what you did and how you did things. People didn't pay you to do shit they consider "right." You were blessed to get $20 and not hear them bitch it was too much..... and the shit didn't crack and lasted.

I see the Cheap Hedmans are now 185 bux. go buy 4 sets at less than half what they want for these A.R.s and unless you drive your car in the salt all winter, you'll never used those 4 sets in a lifetime.

I got tired of smashed long tubes and for fuck sakes I did everything to keep them sealed up with poor results. I found out the edelbrock shorties were good for one hp if I remember correctly.....not worth the cost. I’m running massaged freeflows in my lawn chair hauler.

They'd be further ahead recasting free flows.
