You ever use cold-galv spray? It doesn't look exactly like real galv, but it looks more like it than grey primer.

Well, that is what I thought I was buying this time. I guess there is no match for zinc or anodized coatings other than spray bombing a mist of gold & silver.

I have been trying to come up with a air cleaner to hood seal system that looks stock. I could cut 2 OE seals to make one but I can't bring myself to do that just yet. I wonder if they make a after market one. My second choice is make one out of a house hold air conditioner 1x1 foam and glue it to a lip on the tub. I did this on my SC/Rambler and it doesn't look too bad. I even looked at a Olds type seal but they look the same as the seal I made for my SC/Rambler. Anyway, I am making a lip out of the old tops in case i want to go that rout. This took some finesse with a body hammer but I got it flat. I will have to make a L- shaped straight piece for both sides, braze it together then, cut the extra material from the inside of the lip. To make it it all work, I will have to braze it to the tub. This will make a nice flat 3/4" wide flange to glue the gasket to.

Just a thought. Maybe look at Chrysler shaker hood seal. IIRC they were somewhat close to what you want and they were pretty long.

Lert's just say that the $80.00 worth of liquid steel didn't work out so well. I will post some more stuff up soon.

Liquid steel, JB-Weld and products of that sort are crap. Use Devcon epoxy.
