Looks fantastic! Do you get a lot more vibration etc from the solid mounts vs urethane? Not sure about urethane mounts, but yeah, alot more vibration in the car over stock rubber. All part of the compromise, I 'spose.

Looks really great Joe. Thanks for making me even more depressed, since I sold my '72 Javelin over the holiday weekend..

Glad you have the splash shields back in place, I could see the door hinge bolts weren't shiny black or grade 8 gold... sorry, just jealous. Kinda surprised you put the fenders on before getting the motor back in.

I worked on cleaning up the stainless rocker trim mouldings this weekend. They were pretty dull from road debris sandblasting. Lots of time sanding with 80 grit, 150, 220, 600, then a fine scotchbrite pad. I finished up with a liquid metal polish I had in the cabinet. I masked and repainted the black stripe, though my cheap tape bled a bit in spots... Good enough for who it's for, and WAY nicer than they looked before. 20220711_062642 by Joe Pinsoneault, on Flickr

It was a super busy weekend at n20joe's garage shack. I left work at lunch on Friday to get a jump on setting up the 4.10 gear and Eaton Truetrac diff. I also went with Dr. Diff axles, upgraded with Wilwood chromoly wheel studs. The Caltrac adjustable shocks have a 1/2" sleeve moulded into the lower bushings and wouldn't fit over the stock 5/8" shock plate studs. Luckily I had another set of plates in the shed that I could cut off the studs and weld on spacers to accept 1/2" bolts to mount the shocks. After the axle was back together, I had to make a trip to Rick's place to pick up some parts that Bruce (javtwotone) left there for me, and have a couple of Rick's beers of course. Then back home to install new parking brake cables and brake lines on the axle housing. I bled the brakes, installed the newer exhaust that came on the car when I bought it, and installed the new E-Classics gas tank with 3/8" sending unit. Whew, pretty much a complete roller now. I just need to decide which engine/trans will go in. 20220715_152814 by Joe Pinsoneault, on Flickr 20220717_160838 by Joe Pinsoneault, on Flickr 20220718_200137 by Joe Pinsoneault, on Flickr 20220719_063951 by Joe Pinsoneault, on Flickr

Damn Joe, looks great. You better hurry if you're going to take all the awards at nationals...

Nationals? Lol, nah. I don't have much interest in paying the ridiculous membership and entry fees for the privilege of parking my car on their show field and asking them to tell me everything that's wrong with it.
I may make an effort to get it together for the pure stock drags in September though, so they can tell me what's wrong with it and get asked not to bring it back 😄

I probably have a pair of those shocks laying around. We (Monroe) used to make them in GA. Now I am sure that they are made in Mexico.
