When cappy gets that cam snapped in we will start a new era in amc 304 drag racing performance experimantation and documentation. This could make the hideout a internet mecca of amc 304 interest. Or not who cares.🤣

The top pic is the patch i made from some old utility shelving. Its about .050 thick. A little thicker than the factory metal. I selected it due to gauge, availabilty, ( i had it in my hoard of junk) cost ( free) and i need to get rid of it. I considered buying a repair panel from a vendor, but since it was going to be over a 100$ i went with junk metal. It might look better when im done since im not a fine welder. I had to spot weld a strip on it to get it wide enough. My welder had a timer for spot weld which is an intetesting feature to learn. Then theres a pic of the fit, which i fucked up a little. Myeh. Then theres a pic of the hole. Which needs some phosphoric acid treatment on the subframe and places to clean out some rust. I also need to weld a nut or three in the frame rail where the trans crossmenber bolts to. Figure i would option out all the holes while i have the chance. It could come in handy in the future of the eternal javelin. Its been pretty hot down here , and its tough work with eyeglasses and rivers of sweat. Ready for cooler weather

Well i took a wrong turn with the jav trying to fix the fred flintstone floorpan. Spending too much time fixing rust, now the whole damn interior is out, dash and all , waiting on the floor to get welded up, get all the rusties acid cleaned out, then a seam seal job , some paint and some dynamat sound deadener installed.... likely be flippin thanksgiving before its back together. I always overdo it. And once you get yourself screwed into fixing some rust, its always more rust than you would guess.

Yep, I hate rust so much. Did so much rust repair in my "Yute" I don't wanna do it anymore.

The body work thing is kinds hard. Its an art i can throw a lot of effort resources and time at, but its not all that gratifying. I spent my life hotrodding stuff, and not investing in a cars looks. I can do it, but camt keep focused enough to finish it. I spent a lot of time and effort on a 70 amx, it came out pretty good for the pos it was, but never finished it cuz i couldnt afford a 1000 $ grille or 1000 tailights or any thing to complete it. So i sold it. I would like to have a decent driver javelin now. This one could be it.
