Busy busy, you got more done than Faster and Louder has on his, and he's owned his 4 times longer. Sure makes me feel like a lazy turd.

Every time I look at the pics of Joe's car, I become very sad about Barting my Jav/AMX.

Really like the car Joe! Your stuff is always top notch. Hope I see it in person someday.

Thanks Rick, I'm sure we'll meet up again soon!
Reb, what's the back story on your Jav AMX?

Joe, I bought the car in 1989, a few months after finishing high school. Totally loved the car. The really short version is that I tore into deep into it to restore/refurbish it. Then immediately after lost my job, went back to school, moved, etc. and never again found the time/money/ambition simultaneously to put it back together.

Awesome, thanks Rick!
Reb, thanks for the explanation. I know of Bart but didn't understand the exact reference. It's something you're definitely not alone in, but people revive those old projects every day!

"Barting" is the term Cap and I came up with to describe having a decent car that isn't good enough, so you take it completely apart and never put it back together. We named it for a guy who used to post here and on some of the old AMC forums who did exactly that several times.

SEM is definitely my favorite. Used it to repair Limo interiors back in the day, and it held up great to the abuse. Painter's Supply in Toledo has given me extra "tint" before to help match our oddball AMC interior colors. Forgot to mention that I really like the '71 style silver on the grille.

I finally decided to swap on the Polyglas tires. The new BFG radials I had just installed sure drove nicely, but I really wanted the correct look. I went with F60-15's, one size over the stock E60-15's due to this car's huge wheel wells. 20210804_150413_HDR by Joe Pinsoneault, on Flickr

Looks really nice Joe. That's the problem with old cars, big wheel wells and dwarf tires. On my big body I got rid of the tiny pizza cutter 14's and went with 235-70/15s. I wanted 255's but they didn't come in a redline.
