Yeah. I'm goin' down to visit Dirty Dan next week and pick up some linkage parts. Once that's all fit up, I'll start makin' holes. I may need to buy an output yoke as well.

31 spline yokes from ford c-6 or even old fmx fits. You can hit the easy button and get a new one ,2-3-6041x spicer fits a 1330 joint. Summit has em for 66 $ … If you go boneyard shopping look for ford trucks with c6 and you might find one that fits a 1350 joint in a heavier duty chassis.

The guy I got the trans from gave me a yoke that he thought fit, but it didn't. I'll be talking to him tomorrow, and see if he just gave me the wrong one, and if he has the right one. If not, I'll order one from Scummit. I was driving around today in my (automatic) Acura, thinking about how great it would be to be rowing the gears in my old junker Rebel. I'm getting kinda eager.

The rebel is the amc road runner.

People mistake them for Road Runners.

I agree with those who say Blowpar stole the design. Just like from the Marlin for the Charger.

So I built a Z bar today from one that I think came from a FSJ, and modified a push rod from the Z bar to the throwout arm. Yeah, I know, I haven't touched it in forever. At any rate, the only knockout in the firewall is actually to the right of the brake arm. I can't imagine even AMC crossing the brake arm with the clutch rod. FWIW, the end of the Z bar lines right up with same said knockout. I'm starting to feel a little like Stollings here.

Never had a rebel, but i imagine the clutch pedal has a shaft that goes through the brake pedal pivot tube, and has a lever on the “ gas pedal” side of the support bracket, that would line up with the pushrod. Just a guess, but i imagine thats how its done.

Trouble is that I have zero factory Rebel clutch linkage parts, and only maybe one that came on any AMC product at all. For the life of me, I can't find any clutch linkage for a Rebel, or even a picture of the clutch linkage on a Rebel, or any other AMC for that matter, so I'm just wingin' it. I whipped out the Uni-Bit and put a hole where I think it should be, and am modifiying the pieces to work. Well, hopefully work. Just to reiterate, the knockout in the firewall is between the steering column and the throttle pedal, well to the right of the brake arm.

Take a pic of the clutch pedal you have . I know where the knockout is. The pedal will have a shaft that goes through the brake pedal pivot TUBE, that goes into the pedal hanger support bracket. You might consider building off that clutch pedal shaft to make a lever to work the pushrod through the factory knockout. If you start putting things where you think they might work, your going to introduce illnesses that are going to push shit in all different directions and your gonna get some ill working linkage. Landbarge might be able to illustrate how amc did all that on a full sized chassis. His car has basically the same pedal and linkage i believe. Barge has a stick trans so i’m betting he has factory pedals and linkage to show how amc accomplished it.

Not much of anything from my setup would help. I have a slave and master for a 6 cylinder eagle. Pedals are 70 AMX with the stock levers cut off and a new one added for the master cylinder pushrod. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought "javjav" on the other forum reproduced all the parts. When I pull the car out, nincan try to measure where the firewall hole is since I'm using it as a feedthrough for the neutral safety and backup light wires to the Ford switches on the trans

Thanks for the pic. That knockout doesn't exist on my car. The one that is there is an inch or two lower, and four inches more to the right. It is to the right of the center line of the steering column.
