Welp, due to the every increasing communism in the PNW in general and WA and OR in particular, we put an offer on a place in Independence, KS. It has been tentatively agreed, pending an in person inspection by us. We actually looked at the place in person in October, but it wasn't at the top of the list then. Looks like I might end up being a little closer to some of my fellow assholes. In case yer wondering, it's a three bed, two bath fixer on 1.1 fenced acre. 30X40 shop with concrete poured to expand it to 60X30. It has a shop and land, and I can just write a check for it. What else matters?

I don't blame you Reb, you were too close to Portland! lol
I'm always looking at options to get out of here. This Province has been Liberal/NDP for as long as I can remember...

I built a house on the outskirts of a suburb of Toledo. 2.5 acres of farmland. Nice little town, 5 yrs later the old lady across the road with 80 acres died, and it became a subdivision. It was the beginning of the end for me, they kept at it all over the town with more subdivisions, then needed new schools, then a horse farm became a Costco.. I was there just shy of 20 yrs.
Got out 4 yrs ago, and visited an old neighbor last summer. Couldn't believe it, NON STOP traffic going by the whole time. Best move I made.

Spud, I don't think WA/OR is gonna purge anything except non-commies. As long as we have vote (fraud) by mail, the greater Seattle-Tacoma area will control all statewide elections. Coupled with the non-stop media brainscrubbing of the populace, this state is lost. It's too bad. Aside from a year in Arizona, I've lived in Oregon or Washington since I was in second grade in the late '70s. Geographically speaking, it's as beautiful a place to live as you could ever ask for. The deal ain't done yet, but I don't think we're gonna stop looking for an exit even if this deal doesn't pan out.

Got out 4 yrs ago, and visited an old neighbor last summer. Couldn't believe it, NON STOP traffic going by the whole time. Best move I made. That's where I got lucky for now. We have a very wealthy Fam out here that used to own all this land. Like, almost two whole Counties.Tthen Great Grandpa sold most of it off for 200 million, hence how they all became rich. Anyways, all the old Farming Fams that bought 1000s of acres each have been dying off. Luckily this rich fam has 6 business's and is buying ALL those Farms back. The one almost ended up a subdivision, but it's lucky "Tarry" is a sneak and bought it out from under the guy and added it to his Farm collection. Hopefully his asshole kids can keep the new 50,000 acre Farm together. My Son went to School with them. Rich snotty dicks, each of them got at least 1 new $100,000 truck every year in HS unless they smashed them up. The one had like 5 new 1 ton dually diesels and they were sent out for mods. They all got big mudders, aftermarket wheels, tuners, exhaust, bigger turbos etc. We had a couple hosuing plans come in when we first moved out here 26 years ago, and the old locals told me how bad that sucked. My 1 82 y/o friend drove independent Truck his whole life. Poured a huge thick concrete drive to park his truck on, and built a huge shop to work on his Truck in. The "yuppies" from the City bitched to the Township they didn't want to see his Truck sitting in his Driveway anymore. They said he should park it somewhere else and drive his car home.

Welp, in an effort to be closer to spud, we bought a place in Arkansas City, KS. Big old house with a former church attached to it. The church building is about 40'X70' and will make a fantastic shop. The house itself is a four bedroom, two bath '30s home with two kitchens, one will become a bar for entertaining, not that we do a lot of that. The only downside is that the place is in town, on four city lots that make for a total .41 acre. One upside is that Mid America Dragway is only a few minutes away.
I probably won't go out to begin renovations until early May, and will likely take until late October to complete the move.

Are ya hauling all your AMC stuff out there, or giving the Junkyard Dog a great deal on it all for him to flip?
